I think a lot of Ehrhoff's shots are intentionally off target looking for tips. Also, a lot are the case of throwing the puck to the net and hope for someone to pick up the puck off a stick or body. You hear a lot of analysists say just throw the puck towards the net.

"Name a defenseman with a 2.75m cap hit that you think is a better all around player than Sekera. As for Stafford, I agree that he doesn't actually have that consistency, but if he started putting up 80 point seasons, I'd be more than happy to reconsider my opinion on him."

All make within $300k of Sekera or some are a lot less. Anyone of the is a better defenseman in my opinion. Sekera is like Zhitnik 2.0

I'm wondering if you have ever actually watched these players play. Montador is garbage and not playing , Rozival is a healthy scratch, Bergeron is a punch line, Carkner is a goon. Not to mention Zhitnik was very good for a long time.

bingo... if you are basing your opinion on a defensmen's shooting percentage.. you are gonna have a bad time...

all they want are deflections, bank ins, or rebounds.

I was being a little dramatic just for effect

But still - I'm just saying - respecting your knowledge and background in conditioning - if a broken wrist can be rebroken so easily, wouldn't that worry you in general? I imagine that it would affect your shot, your ability to clutch, grab, push opponents, lose stick battles etc. Very important stuff.

yes it can have adverse affects... your brain with change your position and motion of doing actions without you even knowing it in order to not put pressure on hurt or pained joints...

I wrist is not actually a joint.. it is a collection of small bones called carpels. A big portion of what you are talking about depends on the kind of break.. if just the bone was broken then the player would lose range of motion due to scar tissue.. if the player also tore ligaments and tendons across the wrist then it would affect muscle tissue.

You pretty much just copied the entire 'comparables' list from capgeek. There's no way I'd take EVERYONE on that list over him. Smid? Carkner? No thanks. I would rather have Sekera playing like he has so far this year over most of those guys. (Not Del Zotto, not Bogosian, and there are a few that are pretty close).

Listen, I regret making a blanket statement regarding listing ANYONE that has a 2.75m cap hit, but Sekera has shown constant improvement, and at this point, I think he'll even get better. I think he's a great value for the team, and has NOT been a liability this year.

LOL..

boring day over there today huh?? Want to talk about roads and snow some more??

I was just annoyed of how Leafs fans came into the Buffalo blog and then started talking about their season outlooks and analysis of players... so I decided to go take up space in the Leafs blog... no harm no foul.

I watch a lot and Sekera would likely be a scratch on many teams. He's just not that good. And Zhitnik was good. Thas was just before the Sabres got him. He was not good here.
