Business fail? Didn't they just make a boat load of money on merchandise and tickets in that first week????
We are all sheep spending money on mediocrity. Nothing will change... And why would it when they are making $. |

I beg to differ. |

Its not Pegula's job to make that decision, its Darcy.
Honestly I do think Ruff's system is the problem, and all this garbage talk about being the same as 2 years ago when Pegula wasn't the owner is absolute garbage. The team has changed a lot both on the ice and off the ice - Carrsrkewl9
The system is really not that much different that others teams... the difference is the players executing the system. |

Pegula is a very smart business man. He is no fool. Yes he may be a fan but he is a business man first and I dont think a man of that stature would let his business fail. I think he is being patient but I am optomistic that he will crack his whip eventually if things dont turn around - MCGUIZZY
Being that he is a business man first he has the luxury of not having to do anything at the moment because the tickets are sold, the Sabres store made 2mil+ in a week, and the fans keep coming and buying food and beers. I'm sure he wants to win but until he starts seeing the Red numbers he really doesn’t have to listen to the fan base. |

Because you have an owner who has gone out of his way to spend MILLIONS of dollars on improvements and the city. The NHL is not PS3. You can not trick the computer into taking Sekera for Crosby. Things take time, Darcy needs trading partners to say yes to deals. But no, we are all sheep for spending our money which is nothing to what Pegula has spent on the team as well as the surrounding area. |
|
|
|
Pegula's problem is that he allows his friendships and fandom get in the way of business. He becomes too close of friends with everyone and strives to be accepted into the hockey circles. He doesn't want to make any enemies at this point and therefore he doesn't fire anyone. - JVince11
he has only owned the team for two years... not even two full season yet. |

With the "system " buffalo plays vs the Boston will be a lot of 2 on 1 and 3 on 2's for Boston buffalo trys to be way to pretty entering the offence zone |

I don't know you, but I don't think you can really make any statement like that with any kind of certainty. There have been 3 other owners (none of whom seemed to care what anybody in the hockeyworld thought of them) that haven't fired this duo, so.... |

His business isnt failing. But his hockey team is losing. Given that Buffalo is one of the best hockey markets in the United States, winning on the ice is somewhat independent of being successful business wise - Gunner Staal
I can see your point. And I was not talking about selling tickets or merchendise. The business Im talking about is winning on the ice. When came out and said he was serious about winning cups, he put his reputation on the line. I think he has shown that he will make changes. Maybe he didnt want to rock the boat right away with coaching changes but i guess only time will tell. I am optomistic he will fix it |

With common law marrage and same sex marriage being allowed in NY.
I think Lindy Regier sounds better than Darcy Ruff.

I love the fact if Ellis was with the amerks he would be a 3 line center or 4th line but same with Cody |

Because Darcy has a good track record in getting the job done that each owner has asked of him. Darcy has kept our cupboards stocked as best he was allowed under previous regimes. Contrary to what people think, Lindy is a good coach. Has he always had the tools to succeed? Your a fool if you hink so. Everyone thinks Lindy runs some tight defensive system and that is false. He allows his defensemen to pinch to keep the puck in the offensive zone and create scoring chances. Does he preach defense? Absolutely. I wouldn't want a coach that didn't. |

please. if he was only acting based on fandom he would have fired lindy as soon as he got here. pure fandom doesnt keep a coach after 14 years with no cup - robz228
it does if that coach is also a revered classic sabre player from the owner's youth and has a rep as a staple in buffalo. pegula wants to win- but he wants it to be romantic as well. he wants to do it with "his guys"- and thats where the fan part is a detriment... |

This is true, they have thrown their hat in on every key free agent(and some not so key) out there. Something that was unheard of under Golisano. |

It's the NHL, you're supposed to fire coaches that do not win. Lindy has not won. He had maybe the best goaltender of all time, and maybe the most talented team in the NHL for 2 years post lockout. He didn't finish the job. He shouldn't be here |
