Is it just me that loves the fact that Hartnell's still wearing the "Fall Risk" bracelet from the hospital more than a week after his surgery? |

I'd like to see Voracek play on a line with Briere consistently. Danny's a good finisher and Jake needs a player like him to play with. - NickTheKid87
plus jake is solid defensively and good at pushing the play from our zone to the opponents', not exactly two areas where briere thrives. |

Is it just me or does anyone else like Read on the top line? It increases his value tremendously and yeah he's prone to disappear at times but I've found him more dominant in that spot than Brayden was. I hope they continue to reward him for his hard work and leave him there. Although I do hope that his so-so effort in the last Rangers game gets turned around... - FlyersGrace
read has been the most effective right winger on that top line so far.
edit: which isn't saying much. i think read's been pretty good for the most part. |

I posted this on a Flyers thread at the time of the trade. As a Leafs fan I was sad to see Schenn go. Leafs fans were overly critical on their 'analysis' of Schenns play. He had a rough season but his flaws were overstated.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RIoV1B-Oh_A
Watch that play and tell me Schenn has poor mobility. His 'foot speed' concerns are very overblown. His acceleration is lacking but overall he's fairly mobile for a big man. Schenn since he came into the league has had a good year followed by bad followed by good.
The issue I had with Schenn last year was 100% decision making. When he lost his confidence he made bad decisions with the puck. Hesitated on plays making him look very slow.
When Schenn is playing confident he's positionally sound and is capable of make smart short passes. Pair him with a good two way defender who can dish the puck and you have yourself a great pairing.
As for JVR were all aware of his drawbacks however I think a change of scenery was good for both. JVR has all the tools to be a consistent 30 goal man if not a 40 someday. I like his play so far, understanding hell like never be truly consistent but if he can be that 30+ goal guy then great trade all around.

Read's a great option if Giroux plays like Giroux. Read needs guys around him to perform at his highest level and Giroux fits that bill. - NickTheKid87
Yeah, I had high hopes for the Newspaper Line, but they haven't seemed to click yet. I do think with Simmonds banging and Read's shot, once G gets going they could be a strong 1st line. |

We don't need Dan Coulier, Bryz is playing well enough plus he's retired. But UNCLE STAMOS would score 80+ goals playing with Gir. |

Goalie pads on backwards. Happens every time.
There's a Mr. Sub commercial (kinda the Canadian version of Subway) running on TV right now - guy has the pads on backwards. If I was Mr. Sub, I'd refuse to pay for the production costs. |

G getting going is really the key to his lines success, regardless of who's on it. If you get Claude to play like the elite player he is, there's no stopping him. |

I have been more concerned about Voracek than Schenn. Schenn has the excuse of being young and inexperienced. Voracek is young, but he's been in the league for a few years and seems to be deep in his funk.
I do find myself questioning a lot of Laviolette's decisions, in terms of line juggling, but understand there's been a lot of guys not playing well enough to justify a 1st line forward role. That said, there's been little stability that isn't being forced by injury or level of play. - Jsaquella
Yeah Voracek needs to snap out of it, and fast. During the stretch run leading into the playoffs and the Penguins series Jake was absolutely flying. He was patient and confident with the puck. Really solid stick handling and fantastic passing. |
