not so sure about that. i'm just wondering if they have ANY control over the situation. - hammarby31
There was some rhetoric about the Leafs having a single vote veto on any teams moving into their territory but the was rebuked at the NHL office. They wouldn't be building a huge NHL ready stadium in Markham if they didn't have some assurances that there would be an expansion franchise available to them in the near future. |

Sharp wasn't on that team (traded in 05/06), Umberger, Carter and Richards were all sophomores, Primeau didn't play that year (last year was 05/06, Nedved only played 21 games, Handzus wasn't on that team either (left in 05/06), neither was Brashear or Radivojevic. I think you're thinking of 05/06. - NickTheKid87
I brought Carter and Richards first two seasons. You brought up 06/07 alone.
Nedved was here in 06/07. He was sent down to the minors that following season. |

With as thin as we are on prsopects claiming him wouldn't have hurt. Kid has upside.
I personally guarantee he will turn into a 2nd line center for the Pens, and a consistent 60P guy. Watch - FLYERSROCK!
would love this to happen, but there is not a chance in hell |

I was just pointing out that Couturier and Schenn are on a better team (by far) in their second year than Richards and Carter were. |

Are these confirmed lines at practice or Sam just stating his opinion? |

My understanding is that these are the lines at practice. Alas, I am at work and not at the rink with a slurpee so I can't corroborate. |

No Shelley or Sestito, so I'm good with them.
I like Schenn at center. |

He's a former first round pick(2008) by Carolina. 7 goals in 73 NHL games. - Jsaquella
Had 4 points less then b schenn last year. But from what they said in carolina he was way to soft on the puck |

Briere on LW? Simmonds is too wreckless and lacks the finess of G and Briere.. Should be Read-G-Briere IMO |

A healthy Hartnell on the first line would make the rest look better. |

thankfully read is on the other wing, otherwise the foot speed of that line would be...something. |

what i meant was not in vetoing an expansion/relocation - but in the usage of "toronto" in the name. |

I just think Laviolette has to do something rather then nothing. He can throw names in a hat and create lines by pulling names out one by one but it still isn't going to make this line up anymore impressive. It isn't a coaching thing for me. We had a bad offseason, we are expecting a lot from inexperienced players and wishing for the best. We might have to talk to Kimmo about a trade if we don't find our skating legs starting tomorrow night. Bring your lunch pales and go to work. |

Hartnell isn't reckless, and lacks the finesse of Giroux? You need balance on a line, not all 3 of the same type of player. Briere can play any Forward spot. |

Yep. Also two years older and more experienced than Schenn. Soft on puck, can be negated when the games get physical, iffy on defense.
If there was a need, well worth the risk. At best, he'd be forcing McGinn to the 4th line. |

My phone won't allow me to comment on the post but Forsberg was traded for Upshall, Ryan Parent and a first that we then traded back to Nashville for the rights to Hartnell and Timonen. |
