Agreed. How about Eller/DD and Weber with a pick for Derrick Brassard? Surely Columbus must be ready to try something else out, seems he needs a change of scenery.
- Ponyboy

If we are getting Brassard, DD has to be the one to go. Firstly, it just makes more sense for Columbus. More importantly, two french centers in MTL would create a media cluster(frank) the second Plekanec starts to struggle.

Anderson is fool's gold. You're going to have to trust me, I measure risk for a living.

Also, Blackberry, whoa.

Good point. Columbus just had two dmen go down to injury as well. Brassard would look good in the lineup, not scared to throw his weight around and can play left wing or center

Yes, let's put all the pressure on the 18yrs old kid to produce, that's what he needs.

Can people be patient and let kid develop properly. Glachenyuk has played 6 games on the 3rd line and people think he is ready to be a 1st line center?

DD is the one leaving, not Plek. Eller sucks, doesn't have the drive to be a top 6 guys.

- Symba007

I did write "Habs centers for the future." I'm not saying they make trades and put Gally as 1C right away, but this is what the future of the organization should look like, maybe 2 or 3 seasons from now. Plekanec isn't getting any younger, and we can get some good value for him in a trade. Eller and DD, not so much. Also, how do you know that Eller sucks and doesn't have the drive to be top 6? His skill is obviously top-6, he's solid defensively, and many people including Bob Mackenzie have remarked that he has great work ethic. That sounds like a good second-line two-way center to me. Give him some good wingers (for example, Bourque - Eller - Gionta) and see if he produces. Then you can claim that he's not cut out for top-6. Until then, he hasn't been given a fair shot as a top-6 center.

Neither did Jan Bulis, Guillaume Latendresse, Mike Ribeiro. Do you want any of the above on your team OVER Tomas Plekanec?

You don't trade a 32 year old proven capable centerman when your no. 1 is 20 years old. (assuming we're talking 2 years down the road) for a MAYBE capable top-6... whether he's gotten a fair chance or not.

Maybe do fake projects for them, they don't seem to have a problem paying for those.
