My son had a competition yesterday (silver medal, btw) so I saw only the 3rd period.

Were the sabres terribad or the Habs terrigood?

Or both?

- Pecafan Fan

First period, both. Montreal's strong forecheck seemed to cach the Sabres completely oof guard.

Second period, Buffalo played well, Price made some saves, Montreal played well, Miller did not. He seemed out of position all afternoon.

Third period, Montreal just played everyone to keep them fresh and Buffalo just sort of played it out.

Wonder how they'll look today... They'll either be seeking revenge against Ottawa and we'll get a good game. Or, they'll be a little too satisfied with yesterday's effort and get spanked again.

Galchenyuk has 6pts in his last 4 games. He'll be a bust pick for sure.

Thank God Nail had a good season to go 1st and BJ"s picked 2nd.
Gally will be best player from the draft IMO.

Trying not to get too excited, but he seems not really intimidated by the NHL. Putting him on a third line with no pressure to score sure helps though.

Sweet.

Love Galcheyuk. Gallagher deserves a lot of credit for the way he's playing so far as well.

Was listening to Fan590 about a year ago and they had the Sting's play-by-play guy who had said then that if Galchenyuk had not been injured, he would most likely be the top pick. Then the combine made me even more excited. When the Habs drafted him, my phone went nuts with co-workers texting "Hey! They picked your guy!"

Yeah, Habs got really lucky with this one, I think. Not that Nail will be a bad player by any stetch but...

Ton of heart. Makes it to right spots on the ice. And the kid is smart. I mean really, hmmmm they just drafted this new corner stone of the franchise. Maybe I'll become bff's with him and play on his line... might help my career?!

But yes, he plays so hard every shift. Fun to watch really.

Galchenyuk will float for a couple shifts, then someone gives him an opening and he's gone. Styles, oddly enough, seem to work well together.

Yeah, 3rd line duty is nice. Not sure he'd be shut-out even as a top line but a nice confidance booster to just let him pile on the points. He'll get a cold streak at some point this season. Just hope nobody freaks out too bad when it happens.

Weber to Columbus for a pick?

In addition to the concussion he suffered, James Wisniewski also sustained leg and back injuries when he collided with the boards in Saturday's game against the Red Wings.
