Can't deny the dumb. Seems to be better than last year. Always hard for a player like that to play with an edge and not get called every now and then. Players like that don't get the benefit of the doubt, and that's just how it goes. I like him out there.

Washington feed saying that Erskin flinched and that's why his arm came up on Simmonds. Rinaldo not smart for fighting before the puck is dropped. Rinaldo likely tossed.

I'd agree with last season, but when he's played this year, he's been fairly restrained. At least he's working on it.

Hagelin got 4 in the playoffs for a similar elbow, although he hit Alfredsson in the helmet. Simmonds got that right in the face.

This year his had has been straight on his shoulders. He's been very effective generating a forecheck and wreaking havoc by throwing hits.

He's been a great role player this season, I think.

Of note... Bryz keeps us in the game until we get playing... The guy has been a rock so far this year.

Well yeah, it definitely wasn't a board. Borderline interference. But the biggest issue is it was just a bad decision by Rinaldo. Talbot already had the player behind the net lined up for a hit on the forecheck. There were two Caps along the half wall, that's where the puck was going. That's where Rinaldo should have been. But it's not really a penalty.

Cosign. The ref did a studder-step on the puck drop. He made the motion to drop the puck. Rinaldo is out on the ice to respond to that elbow to Simmonds face. That's what Rinaldo does. He sticks up for his team.

I counted 4 missed interference calls, the missed elbow and of all the calls made, only the one on Timonen is valid, IMO.

The officiating in that period was brutal. The refs are going to lose control of this game.
