I'd agree with last season, but when he's played this year, he's been fairly restrained. At least he's working on it. - Jsaquella
Coatesy interviewed him between periods the other night after he took a bad penalty and Berube was shown on the bench talking to him. He basically said he has to reel himself in on the ice.
The kid gets amped up on gameday, and he loves to hit. The call tonight shouldn't have been called, but it was borderline late - he could have held up. A boarding call, thoough? Not at all.

I counted 4 missed interference calls, the missed elbow and of all the calls made, only the one on Timonen is valid, IMO. - Jsaquella
Yeah on the PK Read got dumped getting the puck out of the zone against Green I think. No call. Couturier gets half-grabbed and knocked to his knees. No call. |

Schenn dumped in the middle of the ice away from the play in front of the net. No call.
Simmonds gets an elbow to the face. No call.
Rinaldo forechecks- 2 minute minor. |

The officiating in that period was brutal. The refs are going to lose control of this game. - canadianpenfan
yeah, I could see a Flyer having a boarding major or something in retaliation for the elbow ... and then the Caps retaliating for the boarding. |

I'm more bothered by the consistency than anything. Ignoring blatant penalties and then calling the ticky tack stuff a shift or two later is an easy way for the refs to lose control of a game. |

Refs gipped all NHL fans out of an epic Flyers 5 min PP. I would have loved to see it |

Yeah. Drives me insane. Either let them play or call everything. The players get frustrated and it eventually comes to a head. Lavy getting beet red already. |

I looked in the rule book to see if there was anything about going in to hit a player who was already engaged in a hit by another player. I didn't find anything. I think the ref just didn't like what Rinaldo did there, and just picked a call out of a hat. |

That is true, maybe I'm just not a fan of his and that makes me harder on him. |

I don't care if a guy calls it tight as a nun's....well, you know...or let's all but the most blatant calls go...but make sure it's consistent. Otherwise the players have no idea what's a call and what is not. |

The boarding call was a farce and the Simmonds non call was insanity.
Of note... Bryz keeps us in the game until we get playing... The guy has been a rock so far this year.
Of note, I still get moron leafs and Habs fans who don't watch the team saying that we aren't winning because we don't have a tender.. I now tell them, can you read stats? Cause Bryz has been fine.. - Hextall271
spot on, wihtout bryz this game could have been 3-0 early |

Rinaldo always said he styled his play after Lindros, so maybe a few goals might make him think he's too valuable to take foolish penalties.
