Yeah sure. It makes all the sense in the world to sit McGinn for Sestito in NY.
- PLindbergh31

I didn't say anything about the Ranger's game. I commented on why McGinn was on the ice at the end tonight.

flyers probably would have blown the pp and the caps would have scored right after to completely deflate them. theoretically speaking of course.
- hammarby31

I thought he might have broken his nose, I didn't see him slam his head on the ice as well. Really bad luck

that's exactly what he'll have, and they did absolutely (frank)all about it the rest of the game. i know they need the points, and should focus on that, but the rinaldo fight didn't do much to spark the team. they ignored erskine and still found a way to lose the game. disgrace.
- hammarby31

Loved the spirit Rinaldo showed. He was really throwing with purpose. No issue with him tonight. He was penalized on his first shift because his name is Zach Rinaldo.

It simply has to change. Flyers get the first goal, and then it's time to seize the game. They don't. Flyers kill off a 5-3, and it's then the Caps that respond and raise their effort.

I think the Flyers just aren't as good of a team as last season. They lost a lot of good players and replaced them with average ones. Doesn't help that Mez and Hartnell are out and possibly Simmonds now.

I have no issue with McGinn being on the ice at the end of the game tonight. He's played well, and has earned that. My issue was why was he sat for Sestito in NY? Makes zero sense.

Still can't believe there was no call on the play. The ref was looking right at the play.

Yes keep picks & you will be rewarded.

I was all over Homer last year for not choosing Maata. I was pissed. Laughton seems like a solid prospect, our future 3rd line center with Couts being #2
If we somehow get the #1 pick... What do you do? You can't have Giroux, MacKinnon, Couts, Laughton as the 4C's... Couts would be odd man out.
So then do they make a blockbuster trade with the 3rd overall pick including Couts++ and draft Drouin?
Of course that'd prob never happen, just spitballing. If we get the #1 you gotta be thinking Jones, no?

It's an average team as presently constructed. Have to allow some margin of error for all the youth, but you throw in the injuries and it's a below average roster. You are what your record says you are. Right now it's a bad team.
- PLindbergh31

I really do understand all the youth. I do. In the top 9 you realistically have who that is experienced?

Briere and Knuble, and thats about where it ends. Voracek has been in the league but Columbus is another breed of hockey.

Its the lack of effort that concerns me. Constantly gliding all over the ice is not acceptable.

Not surprising. He really hit his head hard. Protocol with a concussion is a player has to sit out at least 7-10 days I believe.

Voracek has been awful. This is his fifth NHL season now. Growing pains are over for him. He has to play much better.

I am not at this time focused on any 1 player in general nor thinking about #1 pick. I'll hope for the best this season but focus more attention to a more specific group of players once they are no longer playing.

Maybe they aren't as good as they were last year. I don't know. When I see this team playing at the level I think they can play, we'll get a better look at that.

Apparently Simmonds passed the inital concussion tests, which means Richard.

Could also be that we really over rated our players. Don't forget most of our team set CAREER highs last year... to expect them to go OVER that while losing talent was a tough sell from the get go.

I thought they'd stink this year, but i didn't think they'd be the worst team in the league. No effort, no heart, no real solid checking, no hustle, and obviously no fight. How does Erskine not get beat up for what he did?

I wasn't on board with blowing it up before, but i'm there now.
