Yes injuries happen. To the extent they happen to this team? Not a chance. - PLindbergh31
Get it done. Thats my motto. The guys playing on the ice are moving slow and playing like poop. Thats the bottom line. They stink in every asset of the game to start the season. Boring to watch IMO. |

I expect a better effort. Right now this team is just coasting and playing like crap. - stveshdy
Other than the game in TB, I don't think the effort has been poor. I think frankly it's a case of a young team, that is beset by injuries. Even when totally healthy the roster is somewhat lacking. That is on Holmgren, not the coach. |

I am not at this time focused on any 1 player in general nor thinking about #1 pick. I'll hope for the best this season but focus more attention to a more specific group of players once they are no longer playing. - ob18

It is going to be tough to make a major trade now. Flyers would have to overpay. Teams will wait til closer to the deadline before deciding if they are sellers IMO - TPC
even tougher if Simmonds misses some time.
but if he doesn't miss time then making a trade just to shake things up wouldn't be the worst thing in the world ... as long as it's a guy like Jake or Reid, and not Coots or Schenn. |

Possibly, I really think they want someone to pair long-term with G. The defense could be better, but the offense is awful right now. They are generating absolutely nothing on the line rush. With such a short season, teams may jump a little sooner because if you fall too far behind early, you might not be able to get back. As long as you can make the playoffs, anything is possible. Seedings are basically irrelevant. |

I don't disagree with some of the players coasting, but than that is on the coach to sit them or for Holmger to have a little back room chat with them.
I see 0 point in making a trade to improve the team for this year. If The flyers make a trade it should only be for youth and no picks going the other way.
Stay the course and take your lumps this season. Use a top 10 pick in this year's draft to pick another quality player and groom these kids into men.

The goaltending hasn't stunk. A team that can't score in any sport appears to be lackluster and boring.

WOW! I can't believe the crap I am reading on this blog. A team of youngsters with their top two power forwards out due to injury and hey, everyone sucks and everyone should be traded.
Ummmmm, honestly people, did you not expect growing pains with a young team? - ggunky
I did, and still do...wonder if the Flyers feel that way. |

I am not blaming the coach. It's on the players. The guys have to play and give it everything they got. You have to work hard to win hockey games and I don't see that right now. |

No you are right, wouldn't hurt to bring in some new faces maybe. Make some of these players who aren't producing look over their shoulder. I just think it is going to be hard for the Flyers to make an impact trade unless they overpay. No one wants to help the Flyers right now |

How can every player on the team have growing pains at the same time?
I wish you were right.. I think its deeper - Flyersgod
When you say deeper, what do you mean?
Do you not recall the season to never remember, ever? There was some pretty darn good kids on that team and they struggled to score games at a time.

If the players aren't good enough, how do you blame them? My issue isn't with their effort (outside of the TB game) it is more a product of a lack of discipline, and just mental mistakes by young players. |

They don't play well in a lot of areas. Goaltending is about the only positive this year. I'm disappointed in the entire team at this point. Their isnt one player that has impressed so far. |

yeah, I can't see an impact trade happening ... but Homer might just look to trade a couple guys to change up the chemistry. |

Your first sentence is my main concern. That's my biggest issue this team isn't as good as many think. The young guys who are suppose to take that next step are going in the opposite direction. |

What does anyone think you're going to get in a trade at this point? Teams aren't going to give up their good players right now. It's too early. But they certainly will be willing to take your good players on the cheap, and try to take advantage of a desperate GM. Unplug the phones Homer! |

The NHL really has to change the suspension rules. A deliberate head shot that is done with malice, the players suspension should run congruent with the injured player.
If Erskine misses 1 or 2 games, and Simmonds misses a month, there is no justice in that. |
