What about Perry? You know they would resign him especially with 2 buyouts still available to them. - ravishingone
I like Perry, but he's a pending UFA...I'd want to bang out a new deal for him as part of any trade.
I'm not one of those "Bobby Ryan is from Cherry Hill and is a superstar" guys...just tossing a name out there. |

He's been terrible so far. - stveshdy
Voracek has been playing like the player who was traded to the Flyers from Columbus. He Seems disinterested and isn't taking the extra stride to make the play.

Exactly. Give me a proven player around 24-26 years old and I would have no problems moving him.
I still think its early to make a move though. - stveshdy
I think Laviolette gets fired before a trade is made, In my opinion he doesn't deserve it but the coach is always first to go |

You can say that again.
I was concerned about him this summer b4 they even signed him. Didn't think he was worth that kind of $ per year. |

I saw that Gervais scored tonight for you guys. How has he been playing? I was watching the final minutes of the game tonight. Im just curious how he looks...he was a diaster on the Islanders a few years back. - Dedshark
He's been pretty solid. The key with guys like that is to keep the demands low. You play him 15-17 minutes a night, watch his matchups and spot him properly-like most 6th defensemen-and he'll be ok.
He played well for Tampa Bay last year, but was used against lesser opposing players, for the most part. |

I don't think Luke can be messed with anymore than he already has been, he's been pretty bad already |

Another small critique of Laviolette, granted Foster hasn't been great, but why did he sit against NY?
I guess Laviolette saw enough of Lilja's act. That guy is beyond awful. |

I have some doubts about Schenn but ill keep them to myself. Just not sold on the kid. - stveshdy
agreed ... he seems to be missing a little of something. Seems just a little soft around the edges.
Still I think B is safe because L seems to be playing good hockey. (well, outside of that one play tonight). |

My thought is "yes" this is the roster Homer put together. However, this is the roster he put together after Plan A and B failed. I gotta feeling he is very much interested in making changes. A lot of grinders, I wouldn't say a great deal of skill on the forwards right now. |

Still, I'm feeling like Han Solo in that trash compactor....I got a bad feeling. - Jsaquella
This isn't a team. They are a group of people that want to be on vacation for the season. Within 2 weeks they will cost Lava his job. |

That's the whole team. When Giroux looks like crap and is barely noticeable, there is a bigger issue at hand. I can't get on Voracek or Schenn for being invisible when one of the best players in the league is playing the same. |

Probably. Coach is usually the first to go. You can't fire the players. Any trade right now would wreak of desperation, and would likely find the Flyers on the short end of the stick.
There is no quick fix. The most prudent thing to do would probably be trying to ride this out, but I don't see that happening. |

I'm just using a name, not really advocating...I'd prefer Corey Perry over both, if he agrees to an extension as part of the deal |

Because Foster other then when he shoots the puck, is horrendous. Lilja didn't look any better. Although he got a little better after he had an awful first period in that game.

Even the best to ever play the position have plays they would like to have back.
I agree, Luke has been one of the brighter spots of this team so far.

I think Giroux misses Hartnell more than anyone right now, he seems to have no chemistry with anyone else on the team. |

I was talking to people on twitter today, blogger types and such, and one said something that makes more sense to me now than it did earlier.
Considering all the efforts Holmgren made to add guys this summer, do we really think this is the team he wanted? |

The problem could be Lava. This young team could have written him off. |

So what is the answer as the six dman right now? Just roll with a guy who sucks?
Foster made a nice under control pass to Read to set up the Flyers second goal, and like you said he has a good shot.
Lilja does nothing well. Absolutely zero. |
