Honestly with the issues the team currently has, it is really pointless to worry who the sixth dman is.

The Flyers are going to likely have to use McGinn on a wing with Giroux. Think about that for a minute. A guy who wasn't even on the radar a few weeks ago is going to be playing on the top line.

Nothing against McGinn I love what I have seen from him.

I agree. That 6th D man spot is the least of my worries. Foster is terrible. But he's way down on my list of players I'd blame right now.

Same with Timonen. Most of the vets that didn't play have rust, but Coburn and Timonen look like the Titanic.

Agreed is it too early to put an offer sheet in for OEL?

Sophomore slump. Richards went thru the exact same thing. He couldnt defend to save his life after being very good his rookie year.
- psuhockey

Richards defense didn't dip as much as his offense his second year. He had a 22 game goal scoring drought, but was still fairly solid-and yes, I know his +/- sucked, but that's hardly a good stat.

Yep. They could toss one at Ryan O'Reilly

I thought Luke Schenn had a poor overall game tonight. The defense as a whole was poor. Same for Grossmann. Both he and Schenn have played well all year. Not tonight.

Look at the game Dan Ellis played tonight. Why didn't the Flyers consider him as a backup?

Regardless of how bad, or good things get, I will only be pissed if they move their first rounder.
- Jsaquella

Yes I agree, but with this draft I might be pissed if they move any pick in the first 2 or 3 rounds.

Since It looks like Simmonds may be out a while, I would definitely consider doing that.

With Getzlaf and Perry both UFAs at the end of the season, you have to believe Murray thinks he is going to have a hard time signing both. Flyers have plenty of forwards under control for a few years that might entice Murray to pull the trigger.

The thing that bugs me is, the way Couturier played last year, I didn't expect him to be as bad in his own end as he has been this year
- Jsaquella

Don't think he's ready for a bigger role yet.

I see them keeping their first line center in Getzlaf but I think Perry is as good as gone. If Perry hits free agency he's going to get offered a ton of cash

One of the biggest problems right now is Timonen. He does not look right. I think he's struggling coming of his back surgery maybe. I don't know.

If (big if) the Flyers acquire Perry before the trade deadline, I'm pretty confident they won't let him walk in the offseason, especially with two buyouts in their back pocket.

Even a bigger problem. Giroux doesn't look right. The entire team is a mess.

Only way I'd be open to getting Perry, is if they buy out Briere. The Flyers cannot hamstrung themselves on the Cap. They need a top defenseman.

At this point in his career, he is better off in a second pairing role, which I believe would have been the plan if Suter or Weber was acquired. He looks to be a little stiff in his movements.

I wouldn't say that. Overall this Season it's been Schenn and Grossmann.

He's only been in 3 games but he's first in GAA and SV%. That's crazy with the season Anderson is having.
