Yup. And Schenn or Coots should be ready to take over the number 2 center role by the start of the 2014-15 season. - NickTheKid87
Methinks the Flyers need to decide what kind of player they want BSchenn to be and work strongly on that. As of right now, I don't have a clue, nor do I see any reason why he would be an asset at center. |

That's not really what I'm saying, that Voracek + pick should be spent on somebody else. But you could use he or that pick as part of a different package. - BulliesPhan87
Got ya. Would you be opposed to aquiring him at all? if not who/what would you be willing to part with for him? |

I think we really need 4 pts. Gotta start getting into the mix here. On sportsnet, they were saying no team that was at least 6 pts back of 8th last year with 41 games left actually made the playoffs. This season is a different animal but we have to start climbing back up the hill. |

No question. 41 games remain, which is half a season. |

Schenn's started off slow but he's in his second full year. Gotta have patience with the kids. I think they hope he can become a more skillful Mike Richards. If he reaches his potential, he could easily be a number 2 center. He still has a lot of value, should the team decide to move him. |

I'd like to know if that statistic is common over multiple years or if last year was an anomaly. |

My thoughts on the buyout are that Homer is going to bring in some outside talent with potentially nasty contracts and then they may be the ones getting the buyout. It's so up in the air it really depends on who is available. It's fun to think of possibilities. But with this team I don't hold my breath. |

I wasn't saying you're inconsistent, I'm saying you implied a failure to explore all options is the root of their lack of championships. To be frank, I really don't know what the point you're trying to make is, if that wasn't the implication.
Also, thanks for the grammar lesson. Perhaps you could take a look at my use of the semi-colon a page back and advise me on that, too. - BulliesPhan87
This is the last time... My point was that the Flyers should keep everything on the table. I did not mean to imply the failure to explore options was the root cause of their lack of championships. It's the results. It's easy for me to criticize results while sitting on my rear. Their agressive decisions sometimes blow up in their face. Chris Gratton was a perfect example. Sorry, I'm really bad with the semi-colon thing, so I'd be of no help. |

I would probably be opposed to acquiring him, I'd prefer to devote trade resources to a younger defenseman. |

Well, they're a team that DOES keep all options on the table (as demonstrated by literally trading their franchise pillars within half an hour of each other), so I really don't get the complaint. If anything you should be satisfied with them on that front. When you're a team that explores all options and pursues players aggressively, you're necessarily making yourself vulnerable to face-explode scenarios. The only way they can be super-aggressive and avoid that is to hire a legitimate psychic as their GM.
What the Flyers have really not explored lately is extended patience with any one approach. |

Schenn has played well, but seeing JVR score goals while the Flyers can't score in a whorehouse with a fistful of hundreds is tough to take. |

Thing is though, say we kept JVR, we'd still have a gaping hole on D and I have been very happy with Schenn overall. Both players needed a fresh start. |

We'd have a huge hole on D. Besides, like I've said before, it's not the personnel, it's the execution in regards to the offense. |

Probably one of those trades that works out well for both teams. |
