That i think would further prove my point. If thats the case he has put on almost 50 pounds. Thats a lot of weight. - ImThatGuy
It would explain why he seems a step behind when that was never an issue for him before. |

I really cant think of any other reason of why he would be regressing. He jumps up into the play to get on the offense and then cant use his speed like he is used to, to get back.
He needs to hit the offseason hard this year and get that under control. I am still holding out that he will be great.
You cant give up on a 6'7 guy that can skate like he can. |

I'd rather he lose some of the weight and be able to play like he was before if he isn't going to be able to do it with the weight. It seems like a no brainer to me. |

I think it's more mental. He still has the straight away speed but I never thought he was quick. He seems flat footed and afraid to make a bad play. I think you're right he needs to stop letting the play come to him, that Marchand goal was inexcusable |

I am not worried about Sekera at all....
Leo and Myers need to maybe get some 3rd pairing minutes for a night until they get their heads straight.
Sulzer hasn't been great his past 2 games either.
Regehr is hurt...
Brennan was ineffective (just like last year in the NHL like I predicted for again this year)
Ehrhoff, Weber, and Sekera seem to be playing the best this season.
Give McNabb his shot by trading some of the other guys... - JVince11
Agreed!

I have been saying this... they are trying to make him into a well-rounded guy instead of allowing him to sharpen his skills that got him to the NHL stage as a 1st round pick..

I have said for months that Brennan is above average in the AHL but below average in the NHL.
McNabb was above average in the NHL and above average in the AHL.
that transition of skill is not done easily.
McNabb and Myers were linemates in 2009 in prep school.. |

I think it has more to do with other teams figuring out what to do to force him to make a mistake. Gragnani is the perfect example of this. He was awesome when they first called him up at the end of the season 2 years ago. Last year he was awful because teams figured out that if they just pressured him he'd cough up the puck.
I think Myers will figure it out, he just needs the right partner out there with him. Leo is just as much of a mess right now so it's not helping matters. I think they need to put him back with Sekera. That's who he was playing with late last year when he actually looked like the dominant defenseman we all expect him to be. |

Brennan was much more of a project when he was drafted. He's come around nicely and in the right situation could really help. Our PP is terrible, so having a guy with his skills can help. I think in order for him to make the jump though, they need to just deal with the mistakes and growing pains. It's the only way he's going to learn. He's obviously gotten the AHL level down, so the next step is to take the good with the bad and let him learn from it. |

I am starting to like the idea of putting him with Weber...
Weber doesn't join the rush and is a "stay at home d-man" by nature... Sekera is known to join the rush and get down in the zone instead of staying high.
I miss the days of seeing Myers come down to the inside of the face off circle or knocking in rebound attempts.. |
