i'm pretty sure the fact that in 5 games, playing 10 minutes per game, he had zero points and was a -3, probably had something to do with it also.
- sensarmy_11

You watch all the Oilers games like I have? I think it is a numbers game (his contract being two way/injuries). His stats may not be awesome just yet, but he is playing solid. Best I have seen from him. He is going to be back in the NHL ASAP. He is bringing it when he is on the ice. But I guess that is hard to see from the sports page in Ontario?

Also what Ralph Krueger said about two way contract I think also backs up my thesis too.

Nope. He was the only one on the roster that didn't need to clear waivers. Actually, except maybe Yak or Schultz. So I agree insofar as one can consider it a disappointment that he's been less impressive than Yak or Schultz.

i would love to see edmonton trade paajarvi and a 2nd rd pick for a d man of some value. a solid 3-5 defenseman. Is that enough to land one ? who knows..
paajarvi + 2nd rd pick for matt greene? Oilers need a bruising hard as hell d man. can play top shutdown pairing minutes. Would it ever happen.. probably not but what do ya think?

- SPIbanez

I'd want to kick ST in the gonads if he traded MPS for a guy Greene on the shelf for probably the rest of the year unless his name was Spezza. Then I would be ok with that deal.

You missed Luongo on the list. According to many highly respected sources he could be had for a salary dump and a 3rd round pick.
- fiveandagame

Luongo is better than Scheider. If I am Van, I see my Stanley Cup window closing fast. I trade Schneider for a huge return (#1D?) to help the team win now. It's a risk, but if they don't win now, it could be a long rebuild. Maybe it's too late though, if Luongo already wants out.

plus look at your other wingers. Who would you send down. I think he is your safest choice (contract/leadership)

I'd say it's kind of the opposite in terms of the Pajaarvi scouting report. He's been forechecking and getting his nose dirty, it's just unclear that he'll ever be the offensive talent we thought he would be.

Ek makes it sound like we've got another Omark on our hands. At the very least, he can become a 3rd/4th liner.

I said that last spring and was crucified for even mentioning trading Schneider. IMO Schnieder brings back a way better return and Luongo is good enough to back stop a team to a cup.

or in his last 46 games, he is 2-6-8 and a -10.

I wish Edmonton fan would come to grips with reality here.

No he can't, that's why he won't be moved because nobody (frank)ing wants him and his stupid ass contract, and hurting ass Nucks fans can't grasp that concept

MPS is actually heading in the right direction with his play. He'll be a solid pro for many years. For all those saying he sucks, yet want him that shows you all know it as well and think you can get him for a bag of pucks if you only bash him enough.

if that wasn't the case he wouldn't still be there................ Apparently you need an expert to tell you that nobody wants his god awful contract, and Van will get (frank) all for him when they come to grips with trading him for what he's worth

He will be a good second liner. Will not get more than that. He will get a good return, but not great.

i'm sure his contract has something to do with it, but the fact is that IF he was playing well enough to remain with the big club, he would stay with the big club.

Playing with Horcoff and the third line on the 29th place team in the NHL is hardly a place to pad your stats. Maybe if he played with the first or second line his stats would be more flattering? But whatever is your opinion I guess. We like the way his game has changed with the roll he has been given.

coming from the guy who said that justin schultz is better RIGHT NOW than keith yandle, i think anything you say is pretty much irrelevant.

i bet you think yak is better than stamkos too right, and dubnyk is better than lundqvist.
