i'm sure his contract has something to do with it, but the fact is that IF he was playing well enough to remain with the big club, he would stay with the big club. - sensarmy_11
Note that Lander was an emergency call-up because they were on a road trip and already had Horcoff on the roster who could not play. You can fault Paajarvi for not being a better natural centre than Lander despite not playing centre. You can fault him for being more send-down worthy than Schultz and Yakupov. But I find both of those kind of inane criticisms.
I assure you, it is pretty much the most contract related send down in the history of the NHL. |

is someone still a little butthurt because not everyone is as in love with justin schultz as you?
all i did was point out facts, sorry if those get in teh way of your gut feelings and opinions - sensarmy_11
sorry, tell me again how Yandle is a "perennial allstar"

He will be a good second liner. Will not get more than that. He will get a good return, but not great. - acresd
I'd be surprised if he was traded.
His work along the boards has improved dramatically. He just needs confidence and a bit more strength to take it to the net more.
His defensive play is getting good, and you can see improvements in his game along with that size and skill.
Nothing they could get in a trade would be an improvement over where is in now in development and can become.
EDM needs more prospects like him to compliment their stars. |

if that wasn't the case he wouldn't still be there................ Apparently you need an expert to tell you that nobody wants his god awful contract, and Van will get (frank) all for him when they come to grips with trading him for what he's worth - SpoiledByOil
I'm going to wait and see how it all plays out before I start spouting off in absolutes. You see pretty sure of yourself though so please carry on........ |

Listen, nobody is defending Paajarvi's stat line. However, that being said, he was ONLY sent down because of the injury to Shawn Horcoff. They needed a center from OKC and to make room on the roster for that he was the ONLY person that could be sent down to clear room on the roster without clearing waivers. As soon as Horcoff returns from injury, Lander will likely be sent down and MPS will return. |

don't worry about that guy, he's a donkey with very little knowledge who tries to pass himself off as an expert and "big boy" - SpoiledByOil
True. It is just annoying sometimes. Oh well. Hopefully Kyle Turris can fill Spezza's shoes for the sake of Ottawa's season. Some big shoes to fill. 84 points from Spezza last year is going to be hard to do though. 4 th overall in NHL scoring last year if my memory serves me right? |

Playing with Horcoff and the third line on the 29th place team in the NHL is hardly a place to pad your stats. Maybe if he played with the first or second line his stats would be more flattering? But whatever is your opinion I guess. We like the way his game has changed with the roll he has been given. - al3535
Always and excuse with you guys ... last year, it was Renney who ruined him; miscasted him ... now, its playing with Horcoff and whoever the hell makes up your third line. What for his next failure?
Bottom line, you keep adding him as a sweetner in these utterly ridiculous ideas. He isn't a sweetner. Time for you to see that.

Can anyone name a goalie who had a great season early in his career, was well below average for three or four seasons after that and then turned it around and became elite again?
No GM who values his job should be giving up anything more than a 7th round pick for Steve Mason.

i'm sorry, does PRV not have 0 points, is he not a -3, had he not played 5 games.
as for schultz vs yandle.....what facts did you point out, that schultz has the same amount of points as yandle through six games....so that makes him better? you have opinions, that have absolutely nothing to back them up. you are a homer who thinks that everyone on your team is awesome, and everyone on other teams sucks, and any time anyone says different you go off your rocker like an elementary school kid having a tantrum |

There was also something with a 24 hr period of time also, with rules and such. So time was of the essence too. But whatever, who cares. MPS is a bust and was sent down because he is horrible, and will never play in the NHL again. Is that better guys? |

Actually what I said was Schultz is a better offensive defenseman, but you know 1 season over 50 points makes Yandle a perennial allstar, hard to argue that - SpoiledByOil
yes, and 30 pts in the AHL and 6 NHL games makes somebody better than one of the best puckmovers in the NHL. is he better than karlsson too, i mean he's only one point behind him?
THAT ladies and gentlemen is logic, presented to you by possibly the only person who's a bigger homer than cloutier |

Who is the 'you' in this sentence? Eklund? Let alone your persistent habit of letting Cloutier paint all oilers fans, you're now letting Eklund do the talking for us?

I find this post very amusing considering your views on Luongo and his trade value. - fiveandagame
That his value is directly related to his contract and with the cap going down that means his value is extremely low?? Only a Nuck fan would argue that genius |

i love how you keep coming back to this argument over semantics and what perennial means.....
all that means is that you know your arguments are ridiculous, and you have nothing better to say.
yandle has been an allstar 2 years in a row.......it took schultz until the age of 22 to even make it to the NHL. and six games into his career, you're already saying he's better than an allstar player |

Logic???? Hahahhaha so (frank)ing stupid you don't even know what the (frank) you're talking about, 30 points? He had 48 in 34 games genius, 10 points up on 3rd in team scoring, nice logic you can't even check facts before you post.... Way to look smart |

Well, Yandle isn't just a one time all-star, but two time all star. Utterly ludicrous of someone saying a kid six games into his pro career is better than Keith Yandle.
It's an Edmonton fan you are dealing with. Remember ... Hemsky and MPV should net you Claude Giroux in their collective eyes. Logic isn't in their mindset. |

It did not take Schultz six years to make the NHL. It took the duration of the lockout. He decided to finish his education; staying at Wisconsin until he graduated.
Edit: sorry, thought you said six years. However the point remains that he would have been in the NHL sooner had he chosen to fore go the rest of his schooling. |

actually most of them are pretty good, but this clown makes cloutier look like the most level headed and objective person on earth. |

Just funny what you classify as a perennial allstar, he's less than .5 ppg over his career and that's good enough for you. Schultz is a better offensive defenseman than Yandle, Yandle is a more complete player.... And you are a donkey |
