i've been wondering, you guys think Bergevin would pull the trigger on a Jagr trade for a draft pick, if the Habs continue to be good enough for the playoffs and the stars keep blowing this much?

wouldnt be a bad deal to reunite the Pleks and Jagr chemistry goin into the offs

just a thought

Would be nice to have another skilled guy for the top 9. But one to play with Galchenyuk and Gallagher

Would he potentially play instead of Gionta? What happens with him then?

I beleive the Habs should have a strict "one dwarf per line" rule, so one line with Gionta, one with Gallagher and one with DD.

Although i like the whole friendship factor regarding Pleck-Jagr, I'm not so sure as to where that would put us line-combinationwise...

yeah would of helped you guys alot, starting to think it was the only reason the Stars even signed the 2 old vets, free draft picks at the deadline, not a bad plan

based on the ridiculous chemistry they had (even if it was in the Czech
league) i think they'd find a way, Jagr can probably play any forward position at this point in his career anyways, i'm sure left wing wouldnt be horrible....but right now its hard to say since the entire team is playing pretty well, the holes arent quite visible as of yet

That's the problem though, I'm not so sure that he would be inclined to play LW, or be efficient doing so. 20 plus years of pro Right Winging, old habbits die hard...

see with that line i wouldnt take Prust off of it, its perfect because they can't get bullied, if you're gonna play 2 rookies on one line (both skilled) you gotta have protection so i doubt that line will change much, for this year, its a nice lil extra that Prust is actually pretty decent in general though

Therrien did try Eller on that line too but i dunno if that was just PP

maybe....
for now the Habs are pretty solid top to bottom with maybe a revolving door on the 4th line, so i'm not sure it'd be good to mess with anything this early but when going into the offs having a game breaker like Jagr becomes crucial and can be a determining factor so who knows

and imagine what Galy could learn from a Jagr even if for a few weeks

I'm pretty sure that Jagr is not the type of character player that Bergy wants. Also we would be in a similar position to Ottawa last year. You don't give away futures for old guys this year. If there is a move out there to trade a prospect from a position of strength, for another young player (ie.. Runblad and a 2nd for Turris) then okay. But we are in the midst of a rebuild and I hope we don't get ahead of ourselves.

yeah i can agree there's no need to waste and there's no pressure to do so either, but i think we've got like 3 2nd round picks....

if they gave up a 2nd for Jagr and he put up points in the playoffs (and i'm sure he would) and helped us win a few series i'm sure it would be worth it

its not to force the issue but the Habs are pretty stacked with prospects and picks lol

as for Jagr and his character i dont think thats a fair assessment of 41 year old Jagr...sounds like 10 years ago, its like the ppl who still think Kovalchuk is still the non-defensively responsible and purely offensive player from 7 years ago

Prust is alright but he's limited in skill and speed. With the amount of facewashing Gallagher has been getting I doubt Prust is really such a factor. Yeah he's a good fighter but I doubt anybody loses some sleep over him.

to be fair Gallagher's the hardest working player i've seen in a few years i think he dives into those facewashes lol that kid is everywhere (which is nice)

The only problem with Prust on that line is the other team's goon is on the ice too.

That being said, I would still leave it the way it is.
