I would put Eller with Galchenyuk and Gallagher.
I liked Prust there for the first few games, but lately he seems unable to keep up with the kids. - stinger67

They need his toughness on that line though. Example from Saturday when he replaced Gally next to Ott. - hscesq
Of course, but Prust needs to be better than a simple goon. |

No, I was surprised he was doing well with them. Things are back to normal I guess.

No need to worry about the 3rd line. They get extra ice when one of the two first lines is firing blanks. The last 2-3 games, both top lines have been getting lots of chances so there's no need to put the kids on the ice. He can pick where they get ice time, and it's almost always in situations where they are out there to kill time basically. If they score, it's a bonus. I'm sure they'll get mroe ice and rhythm when others start to struggle again (as the DD line was early.)
I know we aren't used to it, but that's what depth can do for a team, we can have the kids playing without suffocating them with pressure to produce. |

He's really not a goon. Yes, he fights a lot, but he kills penalties and such as well. You may be correct in saying he's too slow for them, but I don't think they can move him just yet. |

agreed hes a smart player, for instance when he drew that penalty on seguin when he knew he couldnt out skate him
thats not a typicall "goon", he can fight like one but he also has hockey skills that put him on a 3rd line on pretty much any team |

The kids need that "type" of player to complete the line. If not Prust, then who? White? Moen? I'll stick with Prust. It's not like he's dragging them down. |

he draws penalties, kills them, fights at the right time

Yeah. It was special watching him throw Montreal forwards to the ice in the Montreal end, even though the puck was nowhere in sight. |

And he's a security blanket. Gallagher and Galchenyuk don't have to really worry about getting destroyed in post-whistle scrums when he's on the ice. |

exactly, its the small things like when Gallagher was in that scrum and Mcdurmat(or whoever) tried to get involved, Prust came along and draged him out by his neck |

If I'm MJAT, White comes in for Moen tonight. There's no excuse for Eller and Armstrong trying to hit everything that moves when they get shifts as a fourth line, and then looking over and watching the biggest of them in Moen going around stick-checking. Refusing to fight is one thing, not finishing your checks as a fourth line player would drive me insane as a coach. Am I the only going nuts when I see him not finish a check on a defensemen? (It happened at least 4 times in the second period last night) |

agreed, we dont need to look for reasons to switch up the lines at every loss, there's one simple reason for last night's loss, no finish and nothing else, the lines are fine, but its true that eller is playing well so Therrien's gonna have to find the right fit for him sooner than later |

He's a great addition to this team, no doubt.
I just thought the last few games he was a little behind. Unable to finish plays, or the reason the team lose possession of the puck when his line are on the ice.
Maybe it's just a matter of having a little slump. |
