If you allow goaltenders to be ran...then you must eliminate the instigator rule and face the consequences, it's that simple. SOMEONE has to protect them.
there is a reason that we pay for pick-up hockey and goaltenders do not. think about it. - JLO961

From a league that wants goals it is a complete joke that good goals get waived off because some half wit ref wants to be a hero. Get it right NHL |

When a goaltender leaves the crease and the trapazoid then hell yeah. At the same time it needs to go both ways as the rules are in fact written. If a player is in the crease trying to screen the goaltender while not contesting a puck that is a no goal. But for some reason the calls are in reverse. |

That was a terrible call. Hell if they didn;t score it should have been interference on Price. |

There have been way too many goalie interference calls. Seems close to once per game. |

lol, a Canuck fan trying to argue the physical side of the game with no complaining over bad calls and "having to fight for ice like the rest". lmao Made my night. - JLO961
Really? Thats all you have? What a poor attempt to goad me into argument because somehow being a Canucks fan I obviously have no clue when it comes to the "physical side of the game." Move along |

There have been a lot more of those calls, if goalies are actually getting interfered with then I'm okay with this, otherwise not. |

Are you sure that you're possibly ok with this? that's possibly a very strong commitment. |

The NHL wants more goals, right? No more crease. Everything is fair game. |

Depends on the circumstances- you can say "treat him like any other player", but that means that unless he's physically playing the puck with his stick when you crash into him, that would be interference, by definition. It's interference when that happens to a forward, so why not the goalie? That said, as far as keeping guys out of the crease, I prefer the Billy Smith method- just saying.....get off my land, boy....
What really needs to end are sh*t calls of any kind. In other words, just because someone "falls down", especially when it's clearly on purpose, does not warrant a call for interference- those need to be diving penalties, until the players get the message. That ALSO goes for the guy with the pads on, as well as anyone else.
PS- I agree with one sentiment expressed here, wholeheartedly- that instigator penalty is a whole lot of what is wrong with this game, at this point. |

shiitiest website ever - Surrender Monkey
It amazing me how many people are on here daily, hourly, or hitting refresh every 5 seconds to see anything new that Ek post. Yet this same people have the gall to say that this website sucks. I gotta ask, if it sucks so bad, why are you here? Because everyone else is?
So you take advantage of the forum aspect of the site, which you apparently MUST love, but still complaining and STILL here.
Thats like a eating for free at a restaurant every single day, but complaining nonstop about the food.
I lurk these forums all the time, because even if everyhing is false, its still FUN to see the rumors, the blogs from everybody, the interesting comments. I can't stand people complaing about free stuff, but still sticking around because they want more.
