So, who sits when Simmonds comes back?
Hard to sit Sestito after his 2 goals. Maybe Schenn for a few games? - FlyerGuy
Not much doubt about it from here. He needs to start going to the dirty areas. |

If the Flyers play as hard and are as strong on the puck as they were tonight, they'll be a playoff team. Still need to tighten up on some mistakes. But they were a highly competitive team tonight. - MJL
couturier looks like he may be shaking off whatever funk he was in to start the season, at least appears to be making strides in that direction
(he'll be traded by saturday ) |

One thing about injuries that I've always said. It creates opportunity for other players. McGinn is showing he can play in this League. - MJL
i was just saying this last night, if all these injuries hadn't happened they might not have known how mcginn could play in the nhl...
obviously he might be playing over his head right now, but overall you see a player who can eventually play in the nhl that i had NO idea was even a serious prospect |

i've been getting on timo's case all year, he definitely stepped up big time tonight |

It's asinine, how divergent the calls and non calls have been. I mean on the video I posted, Price bumps Silfverberg and they wave off the goal AND hit Silf with a minor. Conacher snowplows Bryz in the crease and it's ho hum, line up for the draw - Jsaquella
yup. only positive is this conacher guy has a new nickname in our house...
booger.

absolutely...particularly when you keep hearing about how bare the cupboard is below the nhl for the flyers. it's great to see a guy like that step in and show he can hang |

If he was scoring a number of goals, and was just on a hot streak, I would say he's playing over his head. But that's not the case. He plays a very simple hard nose game. He has size and he can skate, and has decent hands. He's strong on the puck, and does a lot of little things out there. I think he's for real as an NHL player.

he's great, i'd guess he's made a lot of fans already, not an easy position to step into i would think. |

i abso agree with the summary, but my saying he's playing over his head is referring to him filling in on the top line with giroux and briere. that's crazy over his head but he is doing it admirably. |

No, I agree, he's not a top line player. But he is showing he can be competitive up there. Realistically he's a 3/4 line role player. But who knows. Maybe he's one of those players that'll surprise you

agreed...i love kimmo, i just feel like he's made a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes in the early going here (coming off surgery/layoff though, how surprising is it?). hasn't been as effective as usual. he sure didn't show it tonight though... |

Maybe someday he will become a top line player. Y'know, a Scott Hartnell kind of story. |
