Thanks for posting that link.

Flyerland's old pal Jim Vandermeer is also on that list.

Maybe a change of scenery helps Whitney? Who knows?

- johndewar

he did play for the Penguins

Ah, hadn't considered that.

The implication during the report was that Whitney's play precipitated the removal of the "A", but your explanation seems every bit as plausible.

Removing the "A" does send a message to the young guys that no one is safe. Unfortunately, at the same time, you do alienate a veteran guy when you do that. Tough to get them signed back onto the program after that.

- johndewar

I think removing the A from a veteran player only means one thing. Not only are you unhappy with his play. But you're also unhappy with other things such as his work ethic, attitude, etc. Coupled with the player being a recent healthy scratch. Far less likely to do with the direction the Organization is going in.

Even Jeff Carter managed to get an "A" away from Kimmo Timonen.

I don't feel good about this game tonight.

I would be happy to be wrong, however.

I expect a half hour long montage and an Earth-shaking standing ovation for Matt Carle's return to Philly tonight.
- NickTheKid87

most people don't remember that carle scored the game tying goal in the final game of the season against the rangers that led to the shoot out and stanley cup run. so underappreciated.

Seeing as other posts were similar, perhaps you were not as clear in your implication as you thought you were?

Anyone on board with pursuing a trade for ryan whitney? Healthy scratch in edmonton. He might pair well with coburn or grossman and provide us with a skater/puck mover.
Ufa after the season as well so no long term commitment

The team that interests me the most is the St Louis Blues... nearly their entire team is either RFA or UFA this offseason.

Pietrangelo, Stewart, Berglund, D'Agostini, Cole, Russell, Shattenkirk are the noteable RFA's, and most are due a pretty decent raise.

UFA's
McDonald, Langebrunner, Redden, Nichol.

Did he get traded to the Flyers this morning?
- Jsaquella

Lack of caffeine. In my heart, Matt is still a Flyer.

Any word on how Redden has played since signing there?
