Rundblad a better option for the power play than anything flyers have at the moment, what is Homer waiting for. After all EK says Rundblad is available! I am so excited I still thing the Red Wings will snatch him up for Tatar or Nyquist.

Rundblad would be great for the fans because when he plays poorly, we can call him Rundbad.
Nevertheless, you will see people on here claiming the Flyer's will get them when the time comes.
I agree.. it ain't happening. Either one.... with Pietrangelo as a slightly less chance than Shattenkirk of coming to Philly. - WarriorHockey21
The Blues have a LOT of guys that need to be re-signed this summer, with a dropping cap. From a strictly hockey perspective, no, both are untouchable. But given the cap situation the Blues could find themselves in, I'd certainly be on the phone with them.
Not saying it'd be cheap or easy, but it's not an impossibility, either.

I still think they will find a way to re-sign both of them. However, if by some chance one of them hits the market, they would still have to want to come to Philly, and at the right price. The price isn't the thing I'm concerned about as much as some of these guys not wanting to come to Philly.
You never know.. I'll never say it's impossible... but I just don't think it's realistic.

Only if they were offer sheeted.. I was speaking about a trade..

And when he plays great they can call him Runglad the great!
Why does nobody think Rundblad is a good option? His stock was just as good as Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk two years ago, he just needs the opportunity. He may never be as good defensively as those two but his offensive side is just as good or better. He is only 22, a first round pick, top dman in SEL at 20, biggest problem he is behind two pp guys in Yandle and the next Lidstrom in OEL.
Someone mentioned Two Broke Girls pole dancing during the Super Bowl, I assumed they were talking about the chicks from Destiny's Child. - PLindbergh31

Well when Rundblad ends up in Detroit or wherever and becomes the next Shattenkirk , etc, the flyers will have missed the boat again.
Did anyone ever think how successfull a Shattenkirk would be in Columbus?? How many players could have been great but got stuck in place like Columbus. St. Louis gives every player a better chance to succeed.

Interesting transactions for Rundblad:
June 25, 2010: Traded to Ottawa by St. Louis for Ottawa's 1st round choice (Vladimir Tarasenko) in 2010 Entry Draft, June 25, 2010.
December 17, 2011: Traded to Phoenix by Ottawa with Ottawa's 2nd round choice (later traded to Columbus - later traded to Philadelphia - Philadelphia selected Anthony Stolarz) in 2012 Entry Draft for Kyle Turris, December 17, 2011.

St. Louis gives every defenseman the chance to succeed. With Hitchcock coaching your forwards are defensively reliable or they're glued to the bench.

Shattenkirk played for Colorado and was traded his rookie season, in which he happened to be playing very well in.
