I'll be honest, I'm tired with the numeral designation that we (fans and media) heap on teams and players. Who gives a (frank) what our 1st, 2nd, or 3rd lines are. Or 1st, 2nd pairing defenseman are. Or #1 or #2 goalie.

Let's evolve!

Hansen and Raymond had about 19 minutes each last night. On most teams that would put you near 1st line minutes. Why pigeon hole players? Coaches need to determine early in a game who's hot and who's not and then ride the hots until they're spent. Sit the nots.

VANTEL and I talked once about drafting based on projected position or team need. Figure out a list of traits that you covet, find players that fit the mould, and draft that player regardless of projections. And then develop the poop out of them.

The most successful teams are ones that can access what they have and what they want accurately.

interesting....I dont pay attention to line combos in the the traditional way as I think they have evolved and few have noticed.

there arent many clear cut lines out there like Bossy Trottier Gillies , Barber leach Clarke or some recent examples

I just stepped out to have a smoke and came back to see the game 3-3.
Not what I expected from the two top teams in the league.

maybe Cory gets traded.

...but Luongo said he wants to be moved publicly. Gillis would be a total hypocrite to keep him.... but on the other hand, Cory wanted off the team for the last several years as well... I guess Gillis cant keep track of the poop that comes out of his own mouth....

Lets make this easier on you. We have 10 million tied up in goalies. Both have expressed interest in playing for other teams. Who (frank)ing cares what we call them.

Sedins are 4rth liners. Last time we were eliminated by the Hawks, AV had them with the least amount of ice time out of all forwards and the the only players with less were our 5/6 d.

Our Captain wasnt even happy with being a 4rth liner...he went public right after the elimination complaining about it. Im sure no one remembers... it was still fashionable to put blinders on regarding AV. It was always Luongo's fault.

We were young. We were wild. We were stupid. We grew up.

To be honest, I'm not sure any of the Shocks smoke (butts) anymore?

So what you're sayin' about your skating is that you now have some jets to go along with those sick mitts these days?

Surprised it took this long for "someone" to comment on my location

Ah the good old days.

I play with older guys now, so I have jets compared to them.

At the end of the day no one wants his contract and Gillis will have to provide an incentive to even entice a club to be interested.

this is beyond the joking around stage for me now...I cant believe anyone who understands team building with respect to the cap could even hope that his contract is moveable

a team would have to be very desperate , put your self on the other side of the trade ..would you take on his contract plus give up an asset?

Yeah normally you would see a salary dump with good/great prospect for a serviceable nhler coming back . Clearly gillis does not agree and I think it might hurt him sooner than later.

5.3 cap for an all-world goaltender is a (frank)ing bargain. And I'm not saying that because he my goalie.

Yup, if I were an opposing GM I wouldn't touch his contract unless my ass was on the line to make the playoffs this year. I'm betting that the GM who acquires him now likely won't be around for the latter years if his deal anyways. GM's do stupid things to save their well-paying jobs.
