Meh....I was ok with it. Tanev's first NHL goal I believe wasn't it? Good for the kid, terrible interview though! - LeftCoaster
Yeah, first in 70something games. Just the celebration reminded me of when Burrows scored in game 7 against Chicago... I guess it was just "the moment." But I ripped Yakupov, so its only fair to do the same for the Canucks.

He's never made an outlet pass until this year. Campbell did that for him in Florida! - Iggysbff
I was aware that he wasn't a smooth skater and a highly skilled puck mover, I was just expecting a guy who would be steady and reliable on his own end and be a big PP weapon. His shot is definitely legit, but his defensive play has been mediocre thus far, hopefully that's just the effects from not playing during the lockout and adjusting to a new city/team/D partner(s). But if this is what he is, then he definitely was not worth that kind of money. |

I agree it should be Luongo, but I'm guessing Schneider will get the call. - Nucker101
I agree with ian that lu had an Ok night
Cory needs to start next game...He needs to start showing why he is supposed to be our starter abd why lu needs to go |

The other players made more of a deal out of it than Tanev did, he was calm and cool as always but had a big smile on him. |

Hopefully he just needs to settle in and relax out there, he's big, but needs to be more physical and move the puck better. All he does is chip it up the boards. - LeftCoaster
For sure, judging by his numbers though hes not much of a puck mover. If he can just be more reliable defensively, score on the PP, be physical and block shots like he did in Florida then he'll be a very valuable player. |

As a fan base we're often overly critical, I mean lets face it, we could have the TO top 6, which is supposed to be their greatest strength isn't it?
Garrison certainly hasn't been the worst defensive player out there. I am pretty sure that he was rehabbing an injury over the summer as well, sort of like Ballard his first year in Van... |

If it hadn't been the overtime winner, I bet he would have just skated over to the bench and taken a seat waiting for his next shift. |

Forget it, Ballard is too important now, throw in Alberts if they need a d-man. |

Fair enough, just seemed excessive to me, only my opinion. Perhaps this outpouring of emotion will translate into some actual game intensity and they will start to really beat these teams instead of letting them hang around all game. |

Yeah, I'm guessing they've been bugging him about not scoring a goal for such a long time now and then he finally does it in OT so it must have been awesome for everyone to see him finally score and do it in that fashion. As a fan it was pretty awesome seeing him do that, I definitely got a little more excited knowing it was him instead of Daniel or Hansen just because it was his first and he seems like such a humble/innocent guy. |

It should be Lou because he made some huge saves again. But since Schneids agent is whining to the media, he may get the start. - Iggysbff

Yes, no more trading Ballard. Made a sick play with his skate to keep the puck in on the winning goal. |

hes arguing with him about Kessel. a number of Leafs fans apparently still dont realize that Kessel might actually be a one trick pony. |

Yeah, now that he's paired with Tanev and on his natural side constantly, he's starting to look like the same Ballard from Phoenix and Florida. |

I think the whole Celebration thing is way over blown. I had no problem with the Nucks celebration last night at all. And players shouldnt comment on other players because it usually ends up making them look like hypocrites.
Like when St Louis female doged about Omarks goal in the shootout, then goes out a few games later and makes hot dog moves of his own. WHO CARES? score goals, have fun and shut up. |

I don't see how Schroeder was so solid yet Higgins had a bad game , thought they both played okay games.
It'll be interesting to see who starts next game, Luongo wasn't amazing but he was solid again and won yet again as well.
Tanev has been great, rarely makes a mistake and does all the little things well, he'd be a beast if he had a better slap shot and was stronger, but that's getting greedy.
Sedins didn't have a good game and we still won without Kesler and Booth, I know it's just the Oilers(who are banged up as well) but that's a big win for this team on the road. - Nucker101
expectation level mostly. I expect Higgins to be noticeable. If he isn't, imo, he needs to be better. 3 rather cheap assists in 9 games is not good enough for him.
Schroeder, I just expect not to make mistakes. He didn't make any so I called it a solid game.

Pretty sure that was Stamkos, but agree, players should keep their yap shut regarding other players. |
