I wasn't. It was a good non-call. It's the bullpoop calls (see: Buffalo call) that are frustrating. - Scoob
Under the rules in place, Conacher should have gotten a 2 minute minor. He made no effort to avoid Bryzgalov, who was not only in the act of making a save, but was deep in his crease and defenseless. |

They're selling the news nowadays. More fallout = more clicks on their site = more ad revenue. Wag the dog and make a profit. - Flyskippy
Pretty much. That's just the world we live in and unfortunately we'll have to accept it. |

Im amazed at how many people want him, I got into a debate with like 5 people at xfinity live about it and I was like why do we need him?! We dont need help scoring (they all looked at me like I was nuts)... - flyers4487
Honestly, read the comments on Philly.com or CSNPhilly. I'm not surprised. |

Unfortunately, dum dums are the ones Panotch is appealing to or at least that's the feeling I get. If idiots start saying, "Panaccio is reporting that the Flyers are interested in Iginla," guess who everyone will go to for an update. More page views for Timmy. - NickTheKid87
Again, in this case I have no issue with the author or what he wrote. It's the readers that are idiots. |

I normally agree with your opinion, and I agree with your sentiment re: Lilja. But I'd just as happy never see you mention Lilja again. It's like watching Archduke Ferdinand getting assassinated each time..... - steelydan
I'd certainly prefer that Meszaros and Gustafsson play rather then Lilja. And I'd rather see Foster with that big shot, get his all around game better to stay in the lineup ahead of Lilja. My simple point is that Lilja can play better then he did in his one game.

I thought he was pushed in. Good non-call, imho.
Inconsistency is the frustration point here. |

I wasn't stating that Lilja has anywhere close to the skill set of Timonen or Coburn. They were just simply used as an example of how the long off season and brief training camp affected some players. Lilja is in the same boat. My basic point is that Lilja can and has played better then he has in the one game he has played this Season. If Foster plays as he did last night, I would favor him due to his big shot. But he's not good enough offensively if he is going to be very poor defensively as he has been most of the Season. - MJL
I would not be opposed to trying Lilja out if Foster struggles. Either way, I don't think playing one or the other will make all that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. |

It wasn't an article. It was an opinion blog. Big difference.
He wrote it to get a discussion started. I honestly don't believe he wrote it with the intent that it would become the source of rumors. |

Wasn't pushed. Got whacked a couple times and lost an edge, made no effort to avoid Bryzgalov. If he was pushed, I'd agree wholeheartedly. The view they showed during the game, from behind then net was a great view of it, unfortunately I can't find that clip.

Alright I see your point. I guess I'm just jealous that he gets paid to give his opinion (here and on CSN Philly). He did spend money on college and what not though. |

Anyway, in general, imho, if a player is making a hockey play by going to the net with the puck then goaltender interference is a non-issue. Going to the net without the puck with the express purpose of hitting or interfering with the goaltender should be a penalty every time. But going to the net with the puck? I don't think so. |

I understand that point, and agree with it to some extent. But how the rule is currently written, Conacher deserved a minor.
I'm just happy Bryz didn't get hurt. I had flashbacks to a game my wife and I went to, Flyers vs Bolts back in 2004. Esche was beating them 1-0 in the second, got run and hurt his knee. Neil Little came in and the Flyers ended up losing 2-1 after he allowed a couple of softies.
The tickets were a birthday gift. Worst birthday gift ever, which includes the Nickelback album I got as a joke |

I usually avoid the mainstream outlets, now I have no problem debating hockey ( love it) but its hard when so many people claim to know what their talking about and dont. Hell I dont really know what im talking about hahah.

The first thing I saw, suggesting Iginla to Philly was Panaccio's series of tweets and blog here and column on CSNphilly.com, which suggested he'd trade for Iginla. Then it was repeated by Panotch's good friend Bruce Garrioch, and all of the sudden the Flyers are hot and heavy after Iginla.
Every subsequent rumor I have seen is based off Panaccio's idea that they should trade for Iginla or Garrioch's column that aped Panotch's, and neither of those columns suggested the Flyers were after Iggy, just that the writer felt he'd be a good fit. - Jsaquella
From what I understand Garrioch floated the idea in a TV spot the night before both of them did the write up. Neither suggested it was an active trade rumour but an idea the two teams could/should pursue. You can kind of assume the two of them had the conversation at some point prior. Any time something like that happens the internet implodes. |

Most of the comments are just trolls bashing the usual scapegoats. Every goal is Bryzgalov's fault. Coburn sucks because he's big and doesn't always hit. Giroux's struggles are solely because he's the captain. |

Could well have been that way. I do know that Garrioch and Panaccio are very good friends, so I'm sure they talked about it. I didn't see Garrioch on TV, but the articles clearly state that it's the author's opinion, not a report on something that happened. |

Miss The Mole, but at this juncture, they need L. Schenn more than JVR. - bradleyc4
Yeah, I think the trade is working out well for both teams.
The leafs needed a guy who wasn't afraid to get in front of the net, the Flyers needed a top 4 defencemen.
So far JVR has been benefiting the most from Kessel not scoring. A handful of his goals have been off Kessel rebounds.
For the leafs with Gardiner emerging, Rielly coming up through the ranks, and a number of other defensive prospects they could afford to move Schenn and I'm glad it was a good old hockey trade that for the time being seems to be beneficial to both teams involved. |

To be honest, it looked like Crombeen was already down and vulnerable on the ice when Rinaldo threw his final punch.
I didn't see it that way and the way that fight was going, I think it's unfair to ask Rinaldo to stop throwing to ask the guy if he was OK. Rinaldo probably knew he connected good but probably had no idea to the extent of the damage at the time.
I think however you view what Rinaldo did (I think it was borderline, at worst), Crombeen had it coming. |
