Great summary, it was a highly entertaining game. Best of the season so far.
My end of game impression is that the Bruins will know they stole two points and the Canadiens will be keen for a rematch and redemption.
Rask well deserves all the accolades, he was phenomenal.
But, Boston had better be wary of the signal coming from this game. They had great difficulty handling Montreal's speed down low and the Bruins D looked like they were chasing all night. Perhaps, moving into first place last night may be the high point of the Bruins' season. |

Haters gotta hate. That game was so even through out, the goal rask let up was tipped by a Bruin. Beyond that, both teams exchanged 11 - 4 shot advantages, very even game. Getting 2 beautiful goals early in the 3rd is not stealing a game, that was a great wi |

Meh ... they're off to a 7-1-1 start without firing on all cylinders. Really not worried that this is a "high point".

So he hates the habs more than the B's, but comments like "they stole 2 points" and "its the high point of their season" seem slightly less than objective. Great game though, absolutely. F.N. Looch with his stick up cost Rask a shutout.
I love the way the Montreal fans boos Chara too.
Think seguin will keep skating with Krejci and Lucic? That 3rd goal was just sooooooo pretty. |

Those two are ridiculously fast and Lucic is perfect as the third man to muck it up and dig in corners. I don't see why they would break them up.
The Subban goal was a fluke thing. Plekanec's breakaway was also a fluke thing, along with being embarrassing! Not sure that's ever happened to me, let alone at home against the Bruins!!

I was surprised how vulnerable the Bruins D were to speed and the Montreal forecheck. It is something other teams may begin to exploit.
Sometimes a team with good talent can win but bad habits and weaknesses start to emerge. Coaches will see it coming even though the team might be winning. I will be curios to hear if Julien expressed any concerns with the Bruins play after the game. |

Ice was horrible last night, the puck seemed to be bouncing everywhere. I don't know if there was a show there yesterday or the day before...
That's the problem these days. In NHL arenas, hockey is now second. |

Maybe in Canada it's second. Here in the US, it's no better than 5th! |

In regards to the rivalry don't worry. Last night you guys were missing Thonrton and Marchand who seems to be two agitators for the habs. If they were in the line-up instead of Spooner and McDermiad then you would have seen a totally different game I think,. |

While shots ended up being pretty equal, the scoring chances were not (notably in the first period). Saying that the Bruins stole 2 points in objective in that Rask had to make far more spectacular saves than Price. I do agree that saying it may be a "high point" is a little over the top though. Also, maybe agitators were missing from both teams so this being a regular match and not a rivalry is based on those players not being in the lineup way more than the absence of hate between the two teams.
Should be great games between the two teams this season, especially if Montreal can keep this up and they end up battling for the division. |

They've had the same core with the same deficiencies for 3+ years. If it's taken other teams this long to figure out the best way to attempt to beat the B's is with speed and skill, then there's something wrong with those other teams. It's no secret that the teams that have given the B's fits over the last 5 years have been teams like the Habs, Canes, Sabres etc. It's a solid observation, but it's hardly a revelation to anyone whose been paying attention for the last few years and it hasn't seemed to hinder the B's success yet.
So in summary ... meh ... not worried. |

Habs small and fast, even when they suck they tend to give the B's fits. Not every team has the speed, or the legs, to keep up the pressure the way Montreal does. |

since the beginning of the season they have been more agressive on the forecheck. It's a welcome change I have to say. Games are more exciting, now the whole Jacques Martin's trap era is finally over.

doc emrick had an interesting fun fact last night. 19 of the 20 bruins are taller than 6' and 17 of the 20 habs are shorter than 5'7"??? no wonder those little legs wear out by the time the third period rolls around.

I agree the defense was chasing, as evidenced by Bergeron helping behind the net and corners more than he usually does, especially when Chara was out there. Having last change helped Montreal with the matchups they wanted in the offensive zone and it worked for them I thought.
I'm impressed that Montreal had a down year and appearantly rebounded so quickly, lets face it takes some teams take years to build up the nerve to fire who needs to be fired and have the players elevate their game. |
