once again wang has found a way around the new CBA. 5MM cap hit to get to salary floor, and he suspended so you dont have to pay him.
Why not just go get a 5MM a year impact player.
Now here is where having PA would of made sense. All jokes aside.
But i really do think reason why we didnt sign PAP is b/c he wanted 4 year deal. If PAP was winning to take a 2 year deal, he probably could have gotten 5MM a year from isles. - Spartiarti
Exactly. Probably because he doesn't have a GM capable of getting said player? |

PAP once had a heart attack. His heart lost.
HUH! TIM THOMAS? WHY!?!?!?!?! - Jethro09
PAP went into Burger King last week at 3PM and ordered an Egg McMuffin & a McGriddle. And got it. |

Thats what I don't get...how does this help buyouts in offseason ? - Isles316
It doesn't. Makes no sense? It's Snow not capable of filling his roster with a player. Any GM would be envious(not really, you know what I mean. Having that option to spend) of HAVING to spend money to reach the floor for Gods sake. He fills it with players who don't play Imagine if we had PA and his 4 million? A player that contributed 67 points last year on top of Boyes for all you Boyes fans and the other collection of crap he obtained recently. instead of Thomas sitting on his recliner drinking a Bud? It's a joke, this is why no one will ever take Wang/Snow seriously except for a few mooks on here. How can this free up space to make a trade or buy out when that space is already there? |

That's what I thought, but it begs the question...
Why didn't they sign Parenteau again? They could have someone help them get to the floor AND contribute. - canadianpenfan
Because he would have taken up the roster spot for Boulton or Ullstrom or Cizikas or Nina. |

Staple: snow said team not likely to toll. Pick doesn't go to Boston unless Thomas plays. Just a move for more flexibility with buyouts, roster moves etc. - Isles316
It's not that bad of a move. But it's a kick in the nuts to the fans. They're basically saying we would rather not pay anyone anything but we still need to comply to the rules. So let's trade a 2nd round pick instead of paying a player that could help the team. |

Because if a 5mm impact player came here, the isles would have to pay him. The irony in this is that the isles don't have to pay Thomas a dime. |

Exactly..it's a joke. And if this bumhole Thomas reports, then we have to give Boston a 2nd round pick. What in holy (frank).
This has to be a kick in the balls to players too |

Fortunately, the Islanders won't have to give up that pick unless Thomas plays a game for the Islanders. I don't see that happening. Us Isles fans have calluses all over our nuts by now from getting kicked there repeatedly. We're numb to it. |

It pretty much says, we don't give a flying (frank) about winning. That's why no one wants to come here. Blame the Coliseum all you want but that's why. Plain as day |

If we got a player that was worth a 2nd round pick everyone in here would be screaming and crying about whoever that was also. Snow won't win on this board until he trades RDP for Bobby Ryan. |

would they have actually been under the cap floor or is this to make sure they remain above the floor in the event of a trade? (or a dp buyout?)

STUPID TRADE! WHY!?! A SECOND ROUNDER? I don't get it unless this is a precursor to something else (RDP Buy out?) - Jethro09
I thought this was not allowed anymore? When I first saw this I thought DP was done? |

Plenty of nice white towns for him to choose from. Lots of churches & other racists...seems like a match...AND

DP makes $500k less/yr than Thomas.
Garth would pay someone MORE than Rick to NOT play. C'mon....that's simple economics 101...
