Hey, you are talking to a common sense fan here. According to alot on here we don't need him and his 67 points, we got it covered? Kind of funny isn't it? Guess you missed my sarcassam on the prior post(and pretty much every one I put on here). - Cptmjl
for all intents and purposes, brad boyes replaced PAP. we all agree with that; however, brad boyes is playing on the second line while PAP is playing on the top line...
use your common sense on this one:
Games Goals Assists Points +/- PIM SOG
Pa parenteau 10 7 2 9 5 8 20
Brad boyes 9 3 4 7 -4 2 19
now imagine if boyes were playing with the top line; its possible hed be doing even better than he is now.
what are we missing from not having parenteau |

Cally is back alot sooner than expected. You guys are going to be in tough to pull this out tonight without PAP. He has 7 goals and 2 assists. - canadianpenfan

Did you? I did it as a response to UIF's "PA is 7 feet tall..." comment. It immediately made me think Chuck Norris facts....either way...it's going to last FOREVER!
** ahh but he was responding to you:
If PA was still here none of this shat would be happening.

Brad Boyes sucks. If you think he is comparable to PA then that's fine I guess your hockey acumen is at a different level then mine? That post was said toungue in cheek but knew you'd grab a hold of it as you can tell from my posts following, predictable. No I don't think PA is incredible but I'd take him faster than you could say "I'm a weenis!" over Boyes. PS he is not playing on the top line for the Isles so you're comparing two different teams with two different sets of lines? Whatever dude, you win. |

Well, I couldn't read that f'n thing. Don't ask why I took the time to do this. I'd trade Boyes for PA in a heartbeat.
----------------Games -----Goals ----Assists----Points-----+/---- PIM----SOG
Pa parenteau----10--------- 7--------- 2 ----------9 -------5------ 8------ 20

thats exactly my point, if boyes is currently a shade less production (from a points perspective) on the 2nd line than pap who is on the top line, its prob safe to assume boyes would be more productive on a more talented line, no? |

I'd definitely put PA a notch up on Boyes but I don't see one that far from the other in terms of overall talent. They both have very different skillsets. With Boyes now finding time on the top line, I think he'll easily surpass PA by seasons end (provided he stays there).
PA is a decent playmaker, patient with the puck, very good skater, nice wrist shot. Boyes is a quick release guy with snipers instinct. Ironically they'd probabl work well together. I think PA is better suited on a line with JT an MM but that said, I want someone better than BOTH on that line. On a true contender, PA is likely a third liner. I have no regrets over not signing him to 4 years $16million +. My regret is we couldn't get a return before he walked. |

a heartbeat?! wow!! its certainly not that cut and dry.
boyes is a year older than pap (pretty much a wash)
boyes makes 3MM less than pap.
pap career high in goals has been 20...boyes as 3 years of 25+ goals.
before this year, since 2009 boyes is +16, pap is -18
whether you like pap more or less than boyes is fine and your opinion, but to say its a deal youd do in a heartbeat seems negligent

I know what PA is all about, and I liked his chemistry with Moulson and JT. With Boyes, I hope to God he can keep it up, but it seems he's been very inconsistent over his career. If he scores this year's equivilant of 40 goals, I'll eat crowe. But, while I don't think PA was the perfect fit, I liked his shifty, playmaking game, and his finishing skills got better with experience. It's frustrating that a player that the Islanders seemingly developed into a good top 6 forward is gone, and now we have a guy that used to be a top 6 forward in hopes that he becomes what we already had. |

boyes makes 3MM less than pap. I don't care, I don't pay him
pap career high in goals has been 20...boyes as 3 years of 25+ goals. PAP's NHL spans way fewer seasons...Boyes has been around since 05.
before this year, since 2009 boyes is +16, pap is -18 This stat means nothing unless you play for the same team under the same circumstances.
