watching this team, the one thing that is clear is that this team never has the game under control. they've blown 2-goal leads against Buffalo, New Jersey and Winnipeg. they blew a third-period lead last night. they were bailed out of blowing a third period lead Sunday by ridiculous refereeing. that's 5 of 10 games. that's a major, major problem that will keep this team out of the playoffs if it's not fixed.

yes, Budaj sucks, but he's not the reason they lost tonight.

Didn't they beat NJ and Winnipeg? WTF are you blathering about? They're not a contending team. There marginally better than they were last year and yes the loss is on the team. Budaj still sucks. Nothing the rest of the team does will change that.

you can look at all 4 Sabres goals and point to catastrophic breakdowns on Montreal's end, whether defensive or disciplinary.

The point is when you have a better goalie a team plays with more confidence and those breakdowns don't occur as often.

The facts are clear if White doesn't take a bad penalty and Budaj doesn't give up 3 bad goals we win the game.

my point was pretty clear--that this team cannot hold a lead. yes, they beat NJ and WPG but that poop averages out, as we saw tonight. i'm not blathering about anything. i'm saying that the main reason the Habs lost tonight was because as a team, they did not play a very good game. Budaj sucked, yes, but so did all 6 defensemen and about half of the forwards.

i think White is far, far more to blame for this loss than Budaj. love the kid's tenacity but he doesn't know when to put the team first, and he's too dangerous to be in the lineup.
