Here is some negativity. The crowd was terrible. Until 1.9 were left in regulation The fans should be embarrassed. Were they all listening to Blessid Union of Souls for 58 Minutes? Drink Beer and scream, yell and chant for heaven's sake.
- RynoBull

Candidly, they cheer when given something to cheer for. 5 years of sitting around waiting for the next devastating mistake will do that to a crowd. How about that breakaway goal to start the third period? Yeah, let me make sure I'm waving my arms like a lunatic in appreciation of that.

I'd add Weber. Has has been anything but a problem in my opinion.
It's not saying much at this point but Weber has been this teams best defenseman since he was put in the lineup.
Beyond me why Pardy was benched for Brennan last night? Brennan being show cased is my only conclussion when it came to that decision.

- TerryPegs

That was my thought too... We have enough offensive D-men on the ice every night with Ehrhoff, Myers, Sekera, and Leo (used to be).. why did we need Brennan's "rocket launcher attached to this stick"?

wussies dont square off with brandon prust voluntarily...

ppl who blast agitators for not fighting enough dont get it.

the whole point of the agitator role is to agitate- throw players off their game, then walk away as the other guy marches off to the box...

for all the flak kaleta gets he has changed games with penalties he has drawn. ott did it last night. job well done.

- battelmt

kaleta is different though. he'd challenge people to fight then skate away after they dropped their gloves. ott got jumped last night thats way different

I would cheer when Miller stonewalled it...

A few interesting tidbits I found....

Steve Ott is 6th in the entire NHL in hits with 35

Foligno is 30th with 27 hits...

In Weber's 6 games he has the third most hits on the team with 25

Grigo and Sulzer have a combined 3 hits in 21 games this season.

Stafford is tied for the 7th most turnovers in the NHL with 11

The highest rated Sabre in the league in terms of Blocked Shots is Leopold and Sekera with 18 and that is 50th best in the NHL.

But Blocked Shots Hurt. Just lay on the ice, out of teh way... like this guy

The Sabres actually won more faceoffs than their opponent last night for the first time this season.
- JVince11

Ennis actually did a decent job on the dot. I don't know his final percentage, but he won some important draws we needed.

It's a chicken and egg argument (I'll start with myself, since you didn't ask) - I don't really care if they win most of the draws, the thing is to win the important draws - the ones where you're in your zone and just iced the puck because you're tired. You need that draw. The one where the situation is reversed and you want your top line to buzz around and cycle the puck, you need that one. The ones with less than a minute to play. Honestly, the problem is we don't really have one excellent faceoff guy. I kind of think that's all you really need.

It must have been teh boos that lit a fire under them. Maybe Ruff, Adams and Patrick should boo them from the bench......

He got cheered when he stopped the one breakaway - big, big cheer. The one I'm talking about was Plekanec's goal 45 seconds into the 3rd to put them up 4-2. That is just hard to watch.

Boos don't help either, but enthusiasm has to spring from somewhere.

I think Ott needs to take more draws... he is the only guy on our team who can regularly take a FO and win over 50% of them... Hodge is at 42%, Ennis is 40%, and Grigo is down to 39% now.

EXACTLY. Fans here should be embarrassed. Vanek even commented that they get pumped up with cheering. I hate how quiet that building gets.

He does have a nice view of the shot. That kind of view costs 5.5 million...

There was a cheer late in the first when they finally cleared the zone after a few dozen soft, gently, lazy, half-assed attempts to do so... I helped.

I also like to yell shoot on the power plays.
