It was during the Ted Nolan regime, where we actually did play physical. I probably should have stated that the first time. - Dwight K. Schrute

What ever happened to Kubina?
Bourdon and Gustaffson are low level guys.. playing without Pronger has been for like 2 years now.. is that really considered the same?
Hartnell, Meszaros, and Simmonds does hurt..

so how much ice time, and what situations, would you realistically want to see grigorenko play (pp, sh, up by 1, down by 1 etc)? he is a "big name" and was a man amongst boys in jr's, but that doesnt mean he is nhl ready or will put up numbers straight away
matteau played a shade over 10mins, 2nd most TOI so far only by a few secs, and he has been responsible defensively and has looked decent offensively even though his line hasnt created much he is getting in the right areas and battles well against the boards, i was surprised at his speed, he is fast for the type of game he plays, but if the devils are up by 1 they pretty much sit him for the 3rd |

Pronger? How long you going to consider him an injured player? That's like the Bills keeping Kevin Everett on the injury report |

the problem isn't so much his ice time or when he is playing it is the fact that Scott, McCormick and Gerbe where getting played over him for much of the time last night.. Not sure how it ended on ice time because Grigs did play more in the 3rd |

I would like to see Grigo playing solid 2C time but be interchangable with Ennis as the 3C depending on the situation. I want to see Grigo also get some not all 2C on the PP unit. I think that in some situations Ennis should be on the ice more than Grigo due to proving that he can score and skate with experience where as Grigo has shown that he doesn't have the poise yet. Ennis is actually better defensively in my mind not because of strength or check but just awareness of things such as passing lanes, liabilities on the ice, and experience in the NHL. |

is Everett still under contract

I realize that Buffalo had a TON of PP time last night and the Hab's were playing with the lead a lot but did anyone else think that TJ Brennan had his best game of the season last night ?
Looked the most comfortable on the ice I've ever seen. |

his best game was his final "prove it" game against washington. over 18min TOI and the chance to get into the flow of the game. gotta take the training wheels of the kid and let him play. never thought id miss leino but id really like to see them together... |

ehhh... I want a bigger fish in the sea than him...
Lydman would be better to pick up as a UFA after this season in my mind.. he is a defensive minded dman that lays hits and blocks shots.
I htink Couver is going to have to trade Bieska or Hamhuis too. i think they want to move Ballard but not as many takers on that market.
Other UFAs this summer on D include Ryan Whitney, Chris Butler, John Erskine, Andrew Ference, Ron Hainsey, Andreas Lilja, Douglas Murray, Rob Scuderi, Ladislav Smid, and Ian White. Not great names but solid 3-4 type guys who could compliment Myers and Ehrhoff to round out our top 4 for sure.

I realistically wouldn't mind Grigo on the ice for second PP duties, maybe some SH if we are up by 3+ just to get him used to it (he is a big body with long reach and nice hand-eye, all useful PK skills, he also seems overtly defensive minded so far), while there are players that should be on the ice before him in up by 1 and down by 1 situations I don't think that he should be nailed to the bench in such times... |
