You must be St. Joe's alum or something... Leggio is not an NHL goalie.

That said, I'd rather have him play over Enroth....

- JCSabs06

Not saying he's gonna be an NHL goalie.. But he might be a better option than Enroth..

Vanek, Pominville or Miller, which one is the most important to re-sign before 2014.

Vanek - 86%

Pominville - 4%

Miller - 3%

I have my own thoughts on this, but I was more amazed at how fickle people really are.

- Powerslave

I'd like to see Vanek retire as a sabre. I was never a guy to get down on him, even in a bad year. He's healthy and is on a line that compliments him well....and I bought his sweater last year!

....With that said, I'd like to see all 3 signed. Particularly at a 'hometown discount" Some may laugh at that, but Vanek in particular has his family set up here. Got my fingers crossed. If anyone were to play hardball, I could see it be Miller in an attempt to move out west to be closer to his wife. We should shore up the goaltending situation in the near future for that reason alone....

- BuffaloKyle

At this point, probably not.

I wish Rochester would play Knapp more. Get the kid some experience.

Have no problem with them has a 3rd line. Kind of like Vanek-Roy-Max back in 05-06. But the Sabres can't continually put Grigo with Hecht & Ott and expect him to produce. That’s why we drafted him, to SCORE not play a sound two-way-game. I get that Hecht & Ott are defensibly responsible, but just sick of that “Ruff mentality” of coaching.
- jzabawaj

yeah, leino being hurt really sucks. as bad as he was last year hes still better than hecht. i dont drill the sabres for signing hecht, it made sense because they probably were in the mindset of being a contender, but yikes he cannot be on a 3rd line of any serious team.

Agree on all.

I'd like to be able to see who is going to be a free agent goalie in 2014. Actually, I wish Makarov was a few years older, and already established in Rochester. I think that kid is our goalie of the future. Ullmark is a wild card.

meh. i watched a lot of kootenay games when mcnabb was there, and he was pretty good. but i would say makarov and ullmark are far better prospects than he is.

I don't know if this has been discussed already, but WGR had a poll this morning that asked, of the big three of Vanek, Pominville or Miller, which one is the most important to re-sign before 2014.

Vanek - 86%

Pominville - 4%

Miller - 3%

Vanek is absolutely killing it right now
I'm actually surprised he wasn't in the 90s

Unless we trade them,
ALL THREE need to be re-signed...
They are all way too valuable to have walk for nothing

Vanek and Pominville are legit top50 players in this league (maybe better), and I still have faith in Miller if we could just get a freaking DEFENSE in front of him...
We do need to find a goalie after Miller though

Out of those guys,
Miller would be the guy I'd think about trading first bc of his age
If we could get a good goalie and a solid defenseman back for him,
That's an offer I'd probably take...
But only bc Miller is getting up there in age & we have no heir apparent
I think Miller is still a very talented goalie who's inconsistency has more to do with the team in front of him then himself...
But like I said,
For the right deal, I trade him...
That goes for anyone on outlr roster though

I'm thinking about what I want our defense too look like next year...

Ehrhoff - ?????
????? - Myers
Sekera - Weber
-Sulzer

McNabb should be up here next year for sure (wish he was here now)
So we can pencil him in somewhere...
With the way Myers looks right now though, him and McNabb as a second pair could be in over their heads

And in order to get one of the top4 guys we NEED,
Sekera might be a guy we have to give up
As much as he's dogged here, he is a decent defenseman w some offensive skill and on a great contact compared to some others out there- that's gotta make him attractive to some teams

Teams in really bad cap trouble next year...
Vancouver, Calgary & Chicago...
Seabrook is a pipe-dream, but maybe Hjarlmersson?
Bieksa & Hamhuis are possible with the salary Vancouver will need to shed
And Giordano should be a guy Calgary moves in a re-build

Get me TWO of those guys,
With Ehrhoff, Myers, McNabb & Weber....
All of the sudden our defense looks A LOT better
And so will Miller

Vanek aint got time for that.

Vanek and Pommer to resign. Miller would have been let go but enroth is a no-show. Thats a big handcuff job. Might mean that you have to buy out Stafford AND Leino. Oh wait....thats not a bad thing.....

You would be able to get a quality return on Myers just based on 'Potential' Snag a good D pair somewhere that is rebuilding.
