Hockey wise yes, business wise no. They have built up their fan base on the back of Ovechkin. Too risky to cut him at this point from a business end of things.

He actually played OK last night, seemed more involved.

I figured someone else took a chance on him.

I really wish he still had enough left for us to pick him up. People would be held accountable for sure. We would be the tougher team to play against that was advertised. But he's lucky to last as long as he has playing the way he did.

Two guys who were good prospects were traded for 5th round picks, on a roster that is as bleak as our 4th line and defense is, I wouldn't have minded trying either one of them here
