I still think there's a lot of truth in the statement "Lindy ruins players".

I don't think he does a good job of putting players in roles they can succeed in. This is a bad example but I remember when we signed Geoff Sanderson years ago and thinking 'Awesome, we just signed a 40 goal scorer'. As soon a we got him it seemed like he was a bust.

Raffi Torres- Had 19 goals before he was traded here, played close to 20 games here no goals.
Dominic Moore- 12 goals and 41 pts in 63 games, grabbed 1 goal and 4 pts in 18 under Ruff.
Brad Boyes- 12 goals and 41 pts in 65 games prior to Buffalo trade.
in 86 games here, had just 13 goals and 37 pts.
Danius Zubrus- 20 goals in 60 games in Wash, averages a goal per every 3 games. Moves to Buffalo (the highest scoring team in the NHL) and his average goes to a goal every 5 games. Plus goes goaless in the playoffs

My guess is Pommer is the only one that plans on staying. Mover the other 2 for a kings ransom and pull a Philly with a quick re-tooling.

I completely agree. If Lindy is still here, I don't think there is a chance in hell Vanek re-signs. I don't think Miller will re-sign either. If those 2 are leaving, might as well trade Pommer too

I'd rather have a different gm besides Darcy making those moves though

Yea i sort of remember him being hurt or something. Wasn't there a rumor he got hurt while playing in Toronto and it was never disclosed to the Sabres or something? I could be wrong I really don't remember

A change is needed. I think he's a good coach but it's time. How long will it take for Myers, Ennis, etc. to completely fall apart.

Didn't Zubrus play a lot with Ovechkin, just to be fair? To your point though, I think there's some credence. Not just with stats but with the defensive play of certain players. I don't think this team should be as bad defensively as they are given they have players who have done well in that type of role elsewhere...Regehr, Leopold, Ott...certainly this team should be better than last in the league in goals per game and 27th in shots per game, I'd think.
