All buyouts have to occur during the normal buyout period period. - Jsaquella
So there are two of them?
How long prior to FA is that buyout period period... if you know off the top of your head head. |

Holmgren is in the process of targeting an over the hill, washed up dman to trade a second round pick for.
Signs point to Jovo, Ed. |

We were just talking about talking a Flier on a D man who could potentially turn things around. Ellerby is a perfect example. |

I agree. His hockey sense has been a question mark going all the way back to junior hockey but he has excellent physical skills -- skates really well for a guy his size, shows some hints of puck-moving ability and physical play.
I'm sure Florida would say his development has been flat ever since he was drafted and signed to his ELC, and they'd be right to say that. I'm sure they'd seen enough and just decided to pull the plug and take whatever they could get.
Even so, Ellerby would hardly be the first defenseman to struggle for 3-4 years after turning pro and then start to figure things out shortly after his original organization gave up on him. Braydon Coburn (who is of similar body type and background) is a good example.

Dont you think a 5th round pick is a bit low for him though?

What do you think of Philip Larsen, Bill? Heard he was a slightly better version of Gustafsson and is having trouble staying in the lineup for Dallas from a good source. |

This place is dead. I thought the picture of Katy Perry would help a little. Guess I should've posted one showing her "good side". |

ESPN hockey coverage is comically pathetic. Look at this gem.

It's possible that McGinn gets sent to the Phantoms, which sucks because I like that kid. - Jsaquella
He's earned the chance to stay but it's probably the most realistic choice |

Cap considerations > Merit
THIS is just another reason why I hate the cap. |

For the benefit of the league, it was for the best. IMHO. |
