Rinaldo can play on more than just the 4th line. Although they are both physical players Zac brings more to the table and deserves regular ice time.
- Stinkfitz

The only reason I'd suggest Rinaldo is because he is waiver exempt so we wouldn't risk losing anyone on waivers.

Similar to Bobby Clarke when he was the GM if i ever ran a team it would be full of muckers and grinders. I know he had some skilled guys obviously along the way.

Not sure why but my favorite players have always been 3-4 line guys.

I am more for Sestito being healthy scratch and maybe trading/demoting Fedetenko with Mcginn and Zac bieng in the lineup consistently.
- Stinkfitz

The fact Shelley hasn't spent one day in the AHL during the entire length of his contract is a joke. Compound the dumb signing by leaving the guy on the roster at the expense of more useful players. I'm amazed no one from the media asks why this is the case.

I don't dislike Rinaldo, and I'd keep him on if we are just judging his play, but I think other things need to be considered. I wouldn't get rid of Fedotenko because he can play better than he is now and at some point McGinn will hit a wall. I like Rinaldo over Sestito but Sestito isn't waiver exempt.

Pronger can be traded, so long as he agrees to waive his NMC and the other team agrees to accept his injury status.

Thomas has a big advantage over Pronger. He's suspended and not getting paid a red cent. Pronger still gets paid.

- Jsaquella

Yeah, but it depends on whether he's getting paid via insurance claim (which IS allowable, as far as I know) or by the team.

It's his locker room presence and that's pretty much it.

Nothing more overrated than that. Leading by example is the best way to lead. There are plenty of veterans on this team that actually play in the games that are a presence in the locker room. Hard to command a lot of respect from your peers from a press box.

I am and have been in favor of demoting him but maybe he makes a bigger impact than we think (which is totally possible). There has to be SOME reason he's still with the team.

If you don't bring anything to the table performance wise, there is zero reason to be on a team. If the Flyers want a motivational speaker or presence in the locker room they can hire Tony Robbins.

Edit /rant. This horse has been beaten to death enough. There is no rationalizing or making any sense of it. His contract is over at the end of this year, I'm sure we will see some job created for him once it's over. Riley Cote redux.

I dont even throw Shelleys name out in these discussions becuase he would have already been a casualty by now if he was going to be put on waivers.

That's a good point. I'd like to think they know what they're doing so they must know something we don't.

Since the shootout was added who are the worst five teams?

I believe the Flyers are 23-40 or something to that effect. They did win the biggest shootout they participated in, so I cut them a lot of slack for that. To me that was like winning 10 shootouts.

I'm just trying to figure out what teams have the worst win % in shootouts.

Flyers are 23-42 (35.4%) all time. That is the worst percentage in NHL history.

I would be shocked if the Flyers weren't in the bottom 5. But I don't know for sure.

Not sure right now, but as of this time last year, the Flyers were SLIGHTLY worse than Florida, enough to finish dead last.

Not sure what to chalk it up to. Obviously they have had some very highly skilled goal scorers. I think goaltending has had a lot to do with it.

I hate shootouts. I freely admit if the Flyers were better at them I wouldn't hate them as much. It's a dumb way to decide a hockey game no question about it. It was put in to try and excite the casual fan, while eliminating ties.

Goaltending as well as being a blue collar team with a lot of grinders and not so many "fancy" players.

Maybe coaching as well. No way to quantify how often the Flyers practice shootouts compared to other teams.
