When Simmonds comes back tomorrow, he'll be back on 1st PP unit. I think Briere will go to 2nd unit. - bmeltzer
I think that will be much better. There's really nobody on the second unit to move the puck. does that mean Couts or Schenn will get bumped? I feel like they want Knuble's big body on the PP still. |

The Law of Averages at work again. And I know most Flyers' fans would be LIVID if that was the Panthers who scored on an identical play. They'd want the refs crucified for not blowing that dead. - NickTheKid87
That is true. We can't be happy if we're not pissed at a ref |

Actually Hartnell blamed a shot from a Devil that happened before Timonen's shot. - Jsaquella
Shhh.. He only blocks his own teams shots. He has no hart. |

It was kind of close, but Theodore only held it for a split second. I do prefer a ref that doesn't assume it's covered when he's not in position to completely see the puck.
I'd rather see a goalie have to hold the puck for an extra half second or so than see a loose puck blown dead because a fat slob can't be bothered to be in position - Jsaquella
the official was in perfect position to see the puck. he was right on top of it. no problem with the lack of whistle, but i can see why JT was pissed. |

that OT shift by couturier was something else. beforehand i thought, hmmm coots at 4v4 could be in issue since he's not exactly, uh, fleet. also, i've been somewhat doubting his offensive ceiling of late, but that shift pretty much changed my mind all at once. well, he's still not a great skater, but clearly his vision and hockey sense in the offensive zone were apparent there. |

He's so skinny and his skating is so ugly, but somehow he controls the puck |

I feel the same way about Sestito after the Tampa game. Those two sweet backhanders really turned me around on him. I can't wait to see what happens when Laviolette inevitably moves him up in the line up and he gets more offensive opportunities. |

Couple of points: Lack of a true goal scorer seems to be clear need. Would love to see Harts G and Perry? on a lione together. Braden Shenn sucks. He's not good skater, shooter, not creative and not good defensively. and is to small to play the way he tries to play to be sucessful in NHL, if he is worth anything get rid of him before it becomes clear to the rest of the league. Danny B will bought out after the season. Simply makes way to much money to justify his lack of production and defensive weaknesses. We have a lot of money coming off the books this summer especialy factoring in buyouts, think we add a top goal scorer and top D man a couple of vets to fill spots and be very competative next year. Simply missing some peices this year and injures have made that situation worse. |

Is this Angelo Cataldi?
What money do we have coming off the books that would allow us to go get a top goal scorer (that may not be available) and a top d-man (which is definitely not readily available).? |

I'll be glad when they start managing more than two goals a game on a regular basis. Jebus, its like they are in an alternate universe where they face Sergei Bobrovski every night. |

I like Hartnell with Bray-Bray and Jake to get his skating legs back but I'd like to see him on the top line with G again. Can't argue that McGinn, G and Danny have been a very effective line thus far though. - NickTheKid87
They have been effective in sopending some time in the offensive zone, but not putting the puck in the net.
Hartnell is a finisher. He needs to be with G.
Hartnell Giroux Briere
Simmonds Schenn Mcginn <--Hell to play against line.
Voracek Cooter Read
Rinaldo Talbot Sestito/Knuble
I like lines with a purpose. That line-up would be hell to play against from a physical stand point, mixed with skill. |

yeah regarding schenn, im actually surprised about his slow start...he was a point per in the AHL and i expected that to give him that extra boost without having a pre season or anything. but then again read leads the team in pts with 8 and schenn has 5...idk one would expect to see G in the top 5 in scoring in the league not the team...i dont like to see G camping on the PP waiting for that patented one timer of his, needs to mix it up, go towards the net and try to find someone back door.. |
