If you looked up "clutch" Danny Briere should be under it. The guy is as clutch as they come
They better not (frank)ing buy him out unless 100% needed |

Wow look what happens when you give Briere some (frank)ing room to work with.
Take him off the wing for next game. It couldnt be more obvious. - flyer_nutter
I understand trying him there, and that line's been getting chances, but it's not converting them.
I hate the in game tweaking Laviolette did today. |

I like him as a coach, and have never really questioned him before.
The whole approach to sitting back in the trap when the team gets a lead, especially in the 3rd period is alarming.
The line-up changes he has, and where certain guys are positioned is questionable. - flyer_nutter
The Flyers don't do that. They play a 1-2-2 situation-ally, like every team does. Such as when changing lines behind a dump in. But they do not as a strategy, sit back in a trap and try to hold onto a lead. Laviolette does not instruct his team to employ that strategy late in games when they have a lead. What you're seeing is a lack of aggressiveness on the players part. For whatever reason.

Luke and Kimmo are moving so much better and playing in sync. I don't have a complaint about Luke, steady with a nice physical presence this team didn't have much of last year. Now, Foster.
Even with Mez coming back, still would like to see one more d-man added with Bruno going to the 7th d-man role.
Nice to see Voracek really moving is feet and being assertive, he can be so creative on line rushes. |

Simmonds was clearly rusty, and that threw the whole G line out of sync today.
I think Nutter has a good point about Briere being not great on the wing.
Luckily the 2nd and third lines were pretty solid, with B Schenn and Voracek getting better each game. Also Couts line had some really good cycle shifts and Read is becoming their best sniper. |

He sure has. Getting Mesz back will be a huge boost. This team is finding its game. Just gotta close the deal in the third and get a little better in their own end. |

@TravisHeHateMe: @mirtle JVR Acquired for a traffic cone. Incredible, really.
@Me: @TravisHeHateMe in case you haven't missed it you idiot, Schenn has been incredibly solid and the Flyers best and consistent dman so far
@TravisHeHateMe: @Me Yes, playing the softest minutes of any defenseman on the team.
@TravisHeHateMe: Yeah, and Timmonen is dragging him around the ice like dead weight because KT is really good. http://t.co/4kChbBvP

No they actually fall back into a defensive system. Other announcers talk about it constantly.
Again you have no idea what you are talking about. They protect the lead instead of attack. |

Pitkanen is just one of those guys who so fluid, you just expect more from him. He is really effective creating offense, it's ashame he doesn't use his size more in the d-zone. Looking back I'm not sure it was the best thing to trade him, Gator gave great leadership for his one year, but his body was pretty shot. |
