Exactly. Vick is a pretzel. He's going to get destroyed running that offense. Especially being behind a sieve of an offensive line. - PLindbergh31
That depends on the health of the offensive line.

A GM looks at his team and sees what weaknesses he wants to address. Schenn was not a backup plan. It was a real need. Just because they didn't get the type of player that you wanted them to get, doesn't make it a backup plan. Do you really think that Holmgren traded JVR for a backup plan? Not the case. - MJL
i remember talking back and forth about this trade pretty much all season before it went down with some of you (MJL being involved as well). i loved the idea of it before, when, and now after it's happened. many are happy the way Schenn is playing now, and what's better is many of us see not only room to improve, but a good chance it will happen.
the bonus is going to be the kind of team guy and leader Luke Schenn is going to be for the Flyers in the locker room moving forward. he has future captain tendencies, while i don't see that from JvR. those intangibles will come into play when looking back at this trade a couple years from now. |

no, the reports were that homer had the schenn deal as a b/u when the prices for puck movers were too high at the draft. burke himself acknowledged that it was a deal in the works for several mos. the fact that we need a puck mover now has nothing to do with me, it's universally acknowledged. |

True. A healthy Kelce and Peters would be a big boost. But a 6'4" 350 pound man trying to recover from a torn achillies is a lot to ask. I'm sure he will play, how effective he will be is another question. |

Funny, when healthy two seasons ago, they were one of the best O-lines in the nation. Factor in the likelihood that they will draft an O-lineman and they should be right back to the top there. If they get Jokel to go with a healthy O-line... they could be the best o-line in the game. Also other FA possibilities including Jake Long. The offensive line had one starter play the entire season... |

actually, a healthy version of the O line is pretty good, but i have no idea if the new system is more of a jump set or vertical step |

Well all reports I have heard is that he was already back to running and what not. Season doesnt start for another 6 months... plenty of time. |

Even if you have an all pro OL I don't think it matters. Vick needs to learn when to give himself up and/or run out of bounds. He simply opens himself up to way too many big hits. |

As a Fins fan I have no idea what happened to him this year. I find it hard to believe he forgot how to play football in one season. Someone is going to pick him up and if he gets with a good coach he'll go on to be a pro bowler year in and year out. |

Which is the same trouble RG3 will encounter. He's plenty good enough to be a pocket passer. I do not think Vick is accurate enough to strictly be a pocket guy. The one thing I will say about Vick is he throws a tremendous deep ball. Intermediate type of throws is what he struggles with. |

The Giants have enough issues of their own, without me worrying about the Eagles problems. Will be a very different team next year. |

Couldn't agree more.
Watch Russell Wilson, I don't know what exactly he does different from RG3 and Vick but he never takes the kinds of shots those two do. |

I didn't see Wilson get squared up once the entire season. Kaepernick rarely took a big hit either.

If he ever walks again.
If I was a 'skins fan, I'd be a little worried.
Maybe not worried that he'll come back from the injury, but certainly worried that it will happen again and again and again. |

For sure. He probably should have never been playing in the game to begin with. |

Its a real concern, no doubt, but he is more likely to have no setbacks than to have setbacks. |

I think we're reading way to much into Colton Orr's effect on a game. Dude averages 5 minutes TOI a night. Yeah he's tough but is he really going to be that big of a problem? - NickTheKid87
You hit it right on the head. We debated all day how to game plan around Colton orr. |
