Mercy pulling. He allowed 4 goals, wasn't really to blame on any of them. Their defensive coverage was like throwing a wash cloth on an elephant
- Jsaquella

well, at least that's one good thing.

I guess I can safely assume that the Leafs forechecked aggressively, exposing our defense for what it is, and we're probably lucky the final score wasn't 10 - 2?

Tonight. The mighty Scrivens gobbled them all up.

Why is that?

Not sure what he meant, but I don't think Paddock has ever really been a successful coach anywhere at the NHL level. Losing record overall, and his best success was in Ottawa who fired him anyway.

I've been in favor of replacing Foster with Gustafsson for about a week or ten days
- Jsaquella

They need a couple of scorers to come up also. Any on the farm?

Absolutely. Every goal Bryzgalov allowed was off poor play or effort in their own end. Bad clear, and everyone stops skating for a second and the Leafs have a guy wide open to score.
- Jsaquella

Goal number two was a fat rebound rite onto the stick of Orr.

That about sums it up. Came out of the locker room in the 2nd and decided to be spectators.

Nope. Except on the last goal, the trouble wasn't lack of speed, it was bad clearing attempts and guys being lazy.

Flyers kept trying to force the puck up the wall. Toronto jumped all over it. It's great to keep the puck out of the middle of the ice, but sometimes you need to change your breakout. Also when the Flyers were on the PP, they knew the puck was going to Giroux. They jumped right on him and took away his time aggressively. Move the puck to the other side. Need some variety on the PP.

With Nic Grossmann doing absolutely nothing to stop him after a lazy clear was stopped at the point and thrown right back on the net.

Understood, still would like to see him do a better job with that rebound.

Hate to pick on the guy because he has played well this year. But Grossmann was awful tonight. Not that anyone else was much better.

True, if any of them were his fault it was that one...at the same time, that's at least half on the defense and piss poor clear attempt.

That's the troubling thing, a lot of the poor play on defense was by veteran types be counted on to do heavy lifting

What is it that this team struggles so badly on the road?

They were really playing well until the Rinaldo penalty. It seems like that penalty took the momentum away and they never recovered.

I'm not scared yet.

This team is just suffering from a lack of confidence and bone-headed mistakes. Numerous times (excluding tonight's game), I have seen some great stuff in the offensive zone. They seem to cycle a lot better than they did last year--except, they can't get a set shot.

Ride this storm out, especially this road trip and then see what you can do.

Look at this tweet after that goal. I chuckled. Bryzgalov obviously wasn't at fault tonight, had little chance on all of the goals.
