The "young" Phantoms are already up here playing. Schenn and Couturier accounted for 60% of the Phantoms production during the NHL lockout. Now they are up here, along with McGinn and Rinaldo. What's left of the young Phantoms with real NHL potential are Wellwood, Gustafsson and Manning, and they latter two have been up and down at the AHL level, while the former projects to be a 4th liner.

At this point I'm thinking move Giroux to the wing. Could it really hurt?

I think a huge part of this comes down to the short season.

i dont know. were over ten games deep now. if players like giroux, crosby, and malkin arent able to get themselves up for it by now, its a problem. these guys are the best in the world at what they do. i realize its not just the stars, as the mistakes and lack of intensity is rampant on both teams, but the bottom line is if these guys are who we think they are they need to show it. not trying to attack giroux in any way, because its not as if crosby and malkin are tearing it up, regardless of what the stat sheets say.
