they are more certain...however that does not negate the fact that they are still indeed valuable and coveted. Giving them up via offer sheet is a move i still dont understand. - Flyers4Life88
I would have gladly given up 4 1st for Weber. Most teams in the Flyers position would. 1st rounders are valuable, no doubt, but they are still unproven commodities. Weber is a bonafide franchise defenseman. |

no doubt
losing Couts last night seemed to throw them all out of whack
not sure what is up with Giroux so far, I hope he bounces back soon
I don't think having Briere on his wing is optimum, but not sure what to do with Briere
when Homer traded Carter and Richards one thing he said they wanted was a better balance of wingers/centers
trading Briere for a scoring top 6 winger makes sense but not sure that is a deal that other teams would go for and that Danny would go for
he is a clutch scorer in the big moments of games and play offs, but when he doesn't score he looks really out of place on the wing - Marc D
right...so giroux center, briere (always thought was a center), couts center, talbot center, and isnt b schenns natural posit center?

Getting him re signed for next season was a great move.
Everyone hates the price, but it was very important. - Marc D
Agreed. Even if he's a shell of his former self. |

Weird, gruesome question: did McGinn lose teeth last night?
Because a bunch of his teammates seemed to be looking for chiclets after the hit. |

You can't be serious. You are seeing the end results of last summer right now. If what I have posted was dead wrong, we would be having a better seasons we speak. - SuperSchennBros
I'm not saying it was dead wrong, just rushed. It's possible that JVR will become a 35-40 goal scorer and offensive dynamo with the Leafs and Schenn will only be as good as he is now. The point I am making is that the sample size isn't there to judge who "won" or "lost" the trade. Both teams were dealing from a position of strength in order to help out an area of weakness. |

I would have done that in a heartbeat as well which probably means Nashville would decline. If you're happy with a trade proposal, that usually means the other team would say no. |

yes although out of the group I think B Schenn has the best chance of success at wing
but he has struggled so far and just started playing better at C with Voracek on his wing |

not the case at all i think he just needs steady line mates ie.) jags and hartsy |

1. I wonder if Bryz is sick. He just didn't look quite like himself last night.
2. With 25% of the season gone, I think my low expectations for the full season will be met. Sucks, but it is what it is. I just hope they don't make a panic move focused on the short term at the expense of the long term because they're not going anywhere this season anyway. |

lol homers a hypocrite then...gets rid of his top 2 centers at the time to improve the wings which he did with jake and simmer but somehow ends up with 5 centers |

he had two stretches last year where he only had 7 points in 11 or 12 games. basically where he's at right now. also, he had a ridiculous year on the power play last year (32 assists) that probably inflated his numbers some. i'm sure there's a little something to missing jagr and hartnell right now, but i think everything will even out over time. |

I think it's pretty obvious in watching Luke Schenn play, what his potential is. As well as knowing how important that type of player is, in building a top team. - MJL

I agree with the opinion that JvR should/could have brought more of a return, but I doubt he gets much more than a 3rd rounder tossed in along with Schenn. It's not like they could have landed a 1st and Schenn. - Jsaquella
Theres a lot of ins, a lot of outs and a lot of what-have-yous. Its complicated |

I just hope its norovirus (which is shorter term) and not influenza (which lingers). Although if it is really flu, at least some of them will have gotten inoculated. Nothing to do for stomach bug. |

Making a panic move for offense would be a big mistake. The team is still very talented up front, despite the injuries.
Shooting at only 6.3% at even-strength is very unlucky and not going to win you many games. Let regression toward the mean take its course and watch this team start scoring more goals and winning more games. - bradleyc4

How does that spell hypocrite? They'd have been better off with 7 centers? |

There was nothing wrong with Bryz last night, in my humble opinion.
I think his yanking was a wake-up call to the team, as opposed to the coach being displeased with his performance. |

why does it have to be about winning the trade? why can't anyone see it for what it was: two teams trading surplus to address weakness? - JoeRussomanno
That wouldn't allow for hyperbole and full on emo, though. |
