You guys get Al "I couldn't beat out Dipietro" Montoya tonight. - canadianpenfan
That's what Gary Lawless was saying on Twitter.
I enjoyed Montoya's work in the Princess Bride. |

If you read through the previous 16 pages I think you'll find (with a few dissenters) that we are still happy with the trade. JVR is a good player with a lot of potential to be a great player. I wish him well with you guys. Schenn has had some very strong games with us and I cringe when I think of the line up without him. We expected some growing pains. I still think he's going to get better as well. One game or one goal isn't going to sour me to him. - FlyersGrace
Another wise one vying for "Voice of Reason" of the day. |

All true, but I don't think he's going anywhere. He's needed in Anaheim, where he is charge of removing squiggly lines from Perry's vision.

Agreed. Schenn has a lot of bright spots to his game and will with time work out the kinks. Mistake free hockey from a 23 year old defensive defensemen, no matter how highly touted, is a pretty unreasonable demand. Especially one who has been (sorry Toronto ) rather mismanaged and left to Mature on his own for most of 4 years. Partnering him with Kimmo will continue to help mature him and his game and give him some confidence.
Don't get me wrong, we miss JVR but we need more help on the backend than the front. And He'll continue to get more looks with Toronto. Still wishing him the best. |

I heard a Cardinal will probably be the next Pope. Funny how Chris Carpenter retired a week before the Pope resigned... Coincidence? |

I hear he's the new started for the Syracuse Bulldogs in the Federal League. Jean-Marc Pelletier had been the starter, but apparently underwent "Major Surgery. Open heart." |

His last team in the LNAH was called "St. Georges Cool 103.5 FM".
EDIT: He's still playing for them. 19 games, 3.35 GAA and .902 SV%
EDIT 2: JM Pelletier apparently retired. I guess he couldn't over come his surgery. |

nor should it. this was typical of the reactions the day of the trade however:
June 23 @ 5:46 PM ET
"I don't think there is any doubt that the Flyers got a good player today. Schenn is a physical defensman that is young and is still developing. And he's a RH shot. But my initial reaction is that the Flyers traded a potential 1st line Winger for a #4 defenseman. Now if the Flyers had a big hole for that level of D man, I'd be okay with it. But they didn't. So it's a little puzzling. So we'll see what else happens.
I feel that JVR has a much higher potential to be an impact player then Schenn does."
i agreed w/ these assessments then and still, even though i didn't post these comments myself. |
