uh...didnt nash and lecavalier both re-sign before they even hit UFA? hossa wanted to win a cup, he even rejected pittsburgh. and no one wanted kovalchuk for that money besides atlanta and new jersey.

Hmm where to start.

1. Maybe you should re-read the part where I said, "all signed/or were traded"

2. Before he re-signed Ek frequently peddled Nash to Toronto trade rumors.

3. Ek considered Montreal a front-runner for Hossa before Atlanta traded him to Pittsburgh (the habs finished first in the east that year, in case your memory is lacking), meanwhile he barely mentioned the Penguins as a possibility.

4. Ek made a blog circa summer of 07 where he "guaranteed" Lecavalier would be traded to the habs within two years....I'm still waiting for that to happen.

5. He also frequently mentioned Kovalchuk to Montreal trade rumors well before Kovalchuk even hit the final year of his contract.

As a Islander fan for the last 30 years we are desperate to hear a trade rumour to benefit our team, I would love to see some playoff action. We have alot of young promising talent. We need a sniper to play with Tavares. Some top level DMan would also be nice.
