The reason Drew Stafford is playing like $hit is because he misses playing grab a$$ w/ Derek Roy before the games.... - Ghost of Bill B
I heard its because Ruff told him to not bring his guitar to practice |

Yea he is 22 I believe. Myers is 23. People also forget that a year ago after Myers got benched he turned into our best defenseman. Even the media that has been roasting him remembers that, so there is no question whether he is able to do it or not or if he isn't smart enouh, I just think he is immature and actually needs to work hard to be great. The lockout was probably the absolute worst thing for a 22 year old that was handed a 10 million dollar check. - sbroads24

I figured Ruff would at least let him play guitar hero in the dressing room before and after practice..

i'll be honest, these boards have been super depressing and not at all fun to read for the past few days.
even been trying to look at it from the comedy angle and its still falling short.
at least during the lockout every thread wasn't 15 pages of depressing anger.
WITH ALL THAT SAID, obviously the team hasn't been doing well. i'd even call it terrible.
but doesnt it get a little redundant to fill every thread with the same rehashed crap? how many times do we need to express our frustration before it just becomes as overdone as lindy's obviously failing methods.
there's not a whole lot we can do about the teams performance. we can all wallow in how terrible it is for the rest of the season or we can finally move on and maybe start talking about the sabres from a different angle.
what players do we want? what players do we need? hows the draft looking? instead of just getting rid of lindy who would you want to realistically replace him with?
obviously there are bits and pieces of this ^^^ in every thread, but the vast vast VAST majority of the posts seem to revolve around the same "(frank) buffalo we suck woe is me" circle jerk. |

It's just time for a coaching change (which has been stated on here ad nauseum already)..
Lindy is married to guys like Hecht, Ellis, Gaustad, Kaleta and a few others they actually got rid of. His hand print runs too deeply on this roster. Another decision that I question is naming Pommer Captain. Don't get me wrong.. I LOVE Pommer's game and think he may be the most valuable guy on the roster. I just question his leadership. He's too soft spoken. This team has been dying for a guy to lead by standing up and screaming; make guys accountable.
Pommer would address the team by starting with "Guys, excuse me for a minute".... - Pairo11
Agree 100%. Team still lacks proper leadership and identity, it has ever since Drury left. |

I really would like to find out if Drury is interested in Coaching! Drury is hands down my favorite player of the 2000's! Guy was a born leader and was so damn clutch! |

So, there really are a limited set of options.
1. Fire Lindy Ruff.
2. Start the fire sale and get rid of these players that no longer respond, or never have responded, to their coach.
Personally, I like option 2 more than option 1.
- GoinFiveHole
My problem is that Ruff gets talented players and then tries to get them to change the way they play and play his way. A good coach will recognize his players strengths and build around that, not ignore those strengths and make them change. A lot of players in this league would struggle here because they would be forced to change the way they play. |

Exactly my feelings . I have stopped coming around for those reasons . Bad enough the Sabres are playing like crap . But we have to hear the same harsh crap over and over . We know the problems . Here is hoping Ted Black and Terry Pegula finally realize what has to be done .

Drury owned the room. He was what a team needs. Darcy should have been fired when he F%^&ed that up. Set the team back 10 years.

We bit*& and moan about this paragraph because we've had the same guy making these failing decisions for the past 17 years. Why talk about who is going to replace Lindy when we all know we will be here for at least another 5 years? Who knows maybe they go 11-4 next month to get back into that 8-9 spot we know they will probably be. But if they don't I have no confidence in Regier that he will explore trading Miller, Stafford, Sekera or "prospects" to stockpile on draft picks or better the team. |

At least Roy could produce secondary scoring... We never addressed the points we would lose when we traded him...
Ott is a great player and leader that we desperatley needed... But he wont score 70 points... |
