We are close to becoming an over 40 team. We won the C league last season but cant hang with the B teams. Just lack the speed. We have 2-3 guys who should be in the A league but play down and they make up for 4-5 who are terrible.

I still say the goal on Toskala when he was with the Leafs was the worst.. The Islanders player basically cleared it from his slot on the PK and the slow hopper goes in. Pavel Brendl's first career goal on Kolzig was fun as well.. backhand dump in from centre.. gold.

very similar situation for me. i joined the team 4 years ago - the were all in their early 40s then, and dropped from B to C because they just didn't think they go up against the younger guys anymore. We've won the league all 3 seasons i've been there, and have a very good chance to do it again this year. I wanted to stay in the B, but being a newbie at the time, my vote really didn't count for much and the bulk of the guys have been together since their early 20s. we have a couple guys who could skate in the A, and make up a lot of our offense. we don't have anyone terrible, but they are definitely in the appropriate league, regardless of their age.

I grew up at Wintersports. That rink has character. I can almost smell that mix of propane fumes, urine and mildew just thinking about it.
