Can a player be bought out and re-signed to a more amenable cap figure? That would be optimal for both Briere and the Flyers.
I mean, this seems like such a pragmatic solution, I would imagine that it's not included in the CBA, but I thought I'd ask. - johndewar
Can't be done as per the current CBA |

Can't wait for knuble to be scratched. - Just5
If he's scratched from time to time, fine. And I know we have 2 guys in Hartnell (when healthy) and Simmonds who can perform a similar role better. But you can't fault Knuble for his heart and really, his classiness on the ice. The reason he never has guys taking cheap shots after the play is because, although he's physical, he's very respected for the way he plays. But yeah, at this point, he's a 12/13 forward who can play bottom-6 minutes and not hurt you too much. |

Just beat the Devils Friday.
That is going to take an even better effort then last night, though.
I Hate the idea of trading Brayden Schenn. He has a really bright future I think.
They showed Brayden, McGinn, and Voracek's picture together last night. They are all so young looking. 21, 22, and 23 years old. Great future for the Flyers, hopefully.
I loved seeing Schenn, McGinn and Simmonds all crashing the net at various times last night. That seemed to be missing in Toronto. And Voracek setting up those goals, controlling the puck, and then whipping it into the slot. Jake has tons of talent and when he plays like he has been he is a key guy for them.
Nice bounce back game from Grossmann. One of the announcers said he just erases guys. Him and L Schenn give them a very physical presence back there.
Buff was getting away with a ton of stuff last night. And Rinaldo looks like he has mastered the anger control issues. Good to see. - Marc D

Love Knuble off the ice but he should be scratched when Hartnell gets back. I don't really like him on that line with Briere and Fedotenko. Those wingers definitely don't give Danny much to work with. |

And that is the main reason i cut Homer some serious slack. Its not like this was a known problem for a few seasons. He attempted to make moves, and big moves at that, to fill that void. I have faith in him. Just gotta deal with highs and lows like the past two games. Im afraid that is gonna be a trend this year.. A few highs, a few lows... no middle ground. - jak521
It will be a trend until the kids mature. Couturier has been 20 for 2 months. Schenn is 21. They're used to dominating, and they're learning that it takes more work and skill to dominate at the NHL level. |

That line got hemmed in early in the game with Foster and Grossmann on defense...it was ugly. |

Blue Jackets hire Jarmo Kekalainen as GM...that's a good move. He's the first European GM in NHL history and did a lot of great work for the Blues in unearthing prospects in the draft. - Jsaquella
That is all well and good but the best part of that hire is that Hexy didn't get mired that albatross of a franchise. |

On a side note, Couturier & B. Schenn were the first Flyers to be younger than me. Schenn was actually born the day after me. It's kind of a weird when I think about it. |

How was McGinn performing in the minors? He certainly has stepped it up since joining the NHL. Was he considered a sure thing or is he way over performing his projection at this point. |

Didn't look vicious enough to be suspendable but should have been a penalty. - bmeltzer
what about the guy who hit mcginn into the boards the other night (the first hit, not the 2nd one - forget the player and team at the moment - carolina?)? |

11 goals and 4 assists for the Phantoms this year in 33 games. He's always been a grinder though. Don't expect him to be a 30 goal scorer but he can be an effective role player. He's playing above his average level but not by much, IMO. |

Tim Wallace from the Hurricanes. Guarantee that McGinn's return that night was why there was no fine or suspension. |
