i like this one:

Well it's obvious to me that Matt Cooke's intention was to severely injure Karlsson. If you break the play down it becomes pretty obvious what Cooke was thinking:

1) With 25.5 seconds left, you can see Cooke and Karlsson turning towards the boards chasing a deflected puck into the corner. If you look at Matt Cooke's face, you can clearly see his left eyebrow raise slightly, and a smirk come across his face as he realizes that this is a perfect opportunity to cross-check Karlsson head-first into the boards from behind.

2) With 24.9 seconds left, Karlsson changes body position, such that a direct check from behind would be almost impossible, and most definitely in Cooke's eyes as not being "devastating enough". Cooke decides at this point that a elbow to the head of Karlsson would most certainly ruin the defencemen's career. Cooke begins to raise his elbow slightly at this point.

3) With 24.4 seconds left, Karlsson and Cooke lose their balance, and you can actually hear Cooke scream a profanity, as he realizes that his opportunity to concuss Karlsson with his elbow has been lost. Cooke though, laughing manically, realizes that this loss of balance has opened the opportunity to slew foot Karlsson, thus propelling him awkwardly into the boards, and breaking both legs.

4) With 23.9 seconds left, Cooke misses his opportunity to slew foot Karlsson. Realizing that he is almost out of options, you can clearly see that Cooke has a eureka moment (made obvious by the light bulb that appears above Cooke's head at the 23.9 mark). Cooke, remembering his high school biology lab on the human body and realizing that Karlsson is not wearing protective socks, literally says "Screw it" and cuts Karlsson's achilles with surgical procession.

5) And the most damning evidence, with 23.5 seconds left in the period and Karlsson writhing in obvious pain on the ice, you can distinctly see Cooke stop, point at Karlsson and start laughing.
