So he is the omniscient one?

Oh well, I prefer Omnipotent

- Oilhab

does omnipotence include omniscience?

I would kinda think so no?

Matthew,

I also think what he also may have meant is that the Jays will suck no matter what.

That is all.

To expect sophistication from me is as dumb as expecting a stripper to be asking you to check her for breast cancer. Sure that could be the case, but then why is she wearing a policeman's hat?

I have often pondered this.

I agree about the AL; he won't go 20-6 this year. Probably something more pedestrian, like 15-10.
- mcmanmat

If he does that, it will be a good year for the Jays.

Kinda. But also that he's a knuckleballer and he's older. He's also going to the American League, a tougher hitting league. He's a great story, but it's not like he's your typical CYA winner.
- hscesq

Not saying he's the greatest... never did. He's still better than anything we had last year.

Only if the other starters don't go 10-15.

If I said they will suck no matter what, it would mean that I know nothing about baseball. I didn't say that at all. We are talking specifics to pitching here, and you're taking it personally as usual.

Have you ever seen an Omnipotent being and an Omniscient being debate who truly knows all?

The answer is never found

The big talk in Metland is about the catcher they got in return, D'Arnaud.
- hscesq

And so it should be. I think he will be a very good player. The Jays went all in because of the downswing with Boston and New York, but after waiting for years to get a good farm system I would have liked a chance to see some of them.

This whole season is about Bautista, if he is not back healthy I don't think they win.

I have concerns about Toronto's SP depth, to be honest. Last year when the starters, who weren't great to begin with, started to go down, they didn't have serviceable replacements. If you lose 2 of their projected starting five, it could be a problem filling the holes.

I hope last year was not a one time thing or he is a 61-56 career pitcher over 10 years.

I don't think he's as vital a piece of the puzzle now as he was before, given the offseason acquisitions.
