I hope last year was not a one time thing or he is a 61-56 career pitcher over 10 years.
- RENATO6

The record is inclusive of years when he was NOT the pitcher he is today, and so it's a bit misleading.

The big talk in Metland is about the catcher they got in return, D'Arnaud.
- hscesq

With reason, he'll be a really good player.

That said (frank) the Mets.

Some teams have the depth. Toronto was bringing guys in from AA.
- mcmanmat

Agreed more depth is good. But very few teams could survive losing 2 of their starting 5.

I think he's been good and getting better the last 3, maybe 4 years, no?

They have lots of offense, no doubt.
- hscesq

And a lot of questions, Reyes injury, Bautista injury, backup catcher, closer, Buehrle's interest in staying in Toronto, Melky, but at least there is a lot of excitement here for the first time in a long time. Tickets are once again harder to get.

Last 4 years

1-1
11-9
8-13
20-6.... Toss out the 2 strange years and he is pretty much a 10-10 pitcher and that was in the NL without the DH

Hopefully, I just would have preferred to have a larger sample size before getting rid of some of the best prospects we had.

Reyes is iffy, especially on that surface. Closer is definitely an issue - Nats have 3 if you want one. Buehrle isn't an issue IMO. if they are winning he will be fine.
Backup catcher usually takes care of itself.

Add Morrow to the list and the fact that Romero sucked last year.

greedy nats, why would the keep 3 closers.

Speaking of nats, Hey Steve you should be glad you don't live on the streets in edmonton anymore there was an outbreak of body lice.

He's too old for a larger sample size. Jays need to win NOW. It's a small window.

They had one, he got hurt. They made a second one the closer, then the first returned and reclaimed the job. Then last month, they picked up the AL leader in saves from last year.

We tried that and you took him back..

I liked Jeff Mathis as the backup, he was solid. The guy we got now was only brought in because of Richardey but Met fans were happy to see him go.. (the catcher not Richardey)
